Cowboys biggest needs for next year

Badasz is improved and I’d adequate imo. LG is the biggest need. RB I’d like to go Bijan but unlikely-There’s a monster NT at Michigan
 
The Cowboys biggest need for next year is cap space. IIRC, Dak will be close to 50 million and Tank 26 million. Plus 20 free agents.

I agree that RB is a need after this year but RBs can be found in the 3rd and 4th round. I would not use a 1st round pick on RB.

OL is a need, LG in particular. Maybe a 2nd round pick on a LG but I think Biadasz will be the C next year unless Farniok beats him out.

TE is a small need. Ferguson and Hendershot will be fine. Sure if some stud fall to them then they can pick him in the 4th round but I would not be looking early for a TE.

It is a shame they let Ridgeway get away. I have a feeling with another year of development he will become a very competent DT. Working alongside Bohanna you would have your run stopping tackle tandem. Letting him go means they need to find someone else like him in the next draft. I would love them to pick up a solid DT in the 1st round, something they have not done since 1991. But that would require some luck depending on where they are picking. Hill is a free agent next year and I would not resign him.

I also think a big need is going to be WR. I am not convinced Noah Brown is the real deal. CeeDee and Gallup are good receivers now they need 1 more WR I think.

In general it is way to early to make good assessments for the 2023 draft. Teams usually don't get serious about draft needs until after the season. There is also free agency. Maybe this is the year the light bulb goes in in Jerry's head and he decides to sign a quality player to fill a gap.
 
Based off of last year and this year OL and figuring out how to stop the run against quality opponents should be priority 1.

DT and LBr should be targeted early and often.

Could be a big assumption thinking he’ll get back to that form. I had high hopes for Cox this year and he’s done borderline nothing.

If a MLB is BPA in early rounds I’d draft in a heartbeat.
 
DT, and then everything else.

Guys, we can't stop the run, and that all starts up front. Rotational types that you find in the mid/late rounds are not the answer.

Until we can stop the run, nothing else we do is going to matter all that much.

Ridge has all the appearances of yet another rotational type. We need a stud up front, a guy who will wreck the interior of the opponents passing game. Unfortunately, our football idiot FO does not understand how this works.

Agree, but it doesn’t help that we have LBs that do nothing and DEs opposite of DLaw that can’t set an edge.

Big Bo was a great step in the right direction and his development has been solid. Give me one more of those guys and a LBr who can actually play plays around the LOS.

On a side - Parsons should be playing MLB in base downs which would help.

Definitely need LB's.
 
IMO
DT is still a need and probably #1 on the list
LB depending on how and if Clark plays this year. Not a huge position need for able bodies due to playing 3 safeties a lot
WR can always use more talent at WR and with CDL contract coming up.
RB I think you can get by with average-above average RBBC

You do realize Quinn usually only plays one or two actual linebackers 80-90% of the time right? Javon Kearse and Donavon Wilson usually play in the box in the place of a traditional linebacker.

Partially true but Kearse is a S / LBr not just a Safety.

If we can't get LBs that can be solid against the run the blueprint against us is easy...do what the Rams and 49ers did to us recently in the playoffs and run it down our throat.
 
LG and DT, for sure. Everything else is nitpicking a little or moderately. RBs can be drafted in rounds 3-5 and be very productive, not a worry.

We need to build on what were good at. Dominate defense.
Win games with 20 points. Home games will actually be an advantage when fans start cheering for Defense.
