Dak is better than Rush and we have to know which version of Dak we're going to get. Hopefully it's the good one.

Dak bigger arm, high processing ability which is why he has a great TD to INT ratio, more mobile/run threat. Opens the field more, I trust him if we're down more.
Cooper Rush is an extremely cerebral QB with great reads, mechanics...but people need to understand. When a QB has a weak arm, it negates a lot of their intelligence because they tend to throw with more anticipation, or throw harder which leads to overthrows. So Ironically, he ends up making throws that to the average person seem stupid, but if you know why they do it you'll understand.

The real issue of our bad performances in the playoffs is the under performance of our offensive line and our defensive play early in games. That's it.
It's coaching. You know the sad part? The Cowboys could have overcame all of that and won if not for 14 penalties.

I wonder how many fans here think they know more than Sean Payton. I’ve read posts where people have said that the difference between Dak and Rush is negligible. That’s foolish, of course. Anyone that saw Payton on Cowherd’s show knows exactly what I’m talking about.

Dak can’t get back in the game fast enough. If he happens to lose games - and he will - Rush would’ve lost the same games, only worse.

Go Cowboys!

Dak is the QB1 of the Cowboys for approximately 12-14 more years IMO.

i don’t know about 12-14 years, but he’s 100% going to be QB1 for the next 6-7 years. He’ll be 35-36 by then. Injury history over the next few years could factor in, and performance will obviously matter. If he stays healthy, he could for sure get a third contact that would take him to 39-41 years old.

Judging by the way I see it, the results to this point strongly favor Dak remaining as our starter.

It seems fair to me to believe Dak as being preferable, due to a stronger arm and being more athletic.

It's my hope that Dak will continue having his typical level of success and fare well in the playoff race.

 You would have him play until he is 43 years old, even though he isn't elite and hasn't had playoff success?
If your going to blame the quarterback instead of the entire franchise which makes a team, the 10 quarterbacks combined before Romo never won any playoffs. A quarterback doesn't have to be elite to win playoffs/Superbowls. It's a team's effort & success not just an individual player!
I don't believe either is the future of the Dallas Cowboys.
Neither were the other 15 after Aikman. Your point?!

Sure you don't need an elite Quarterback to win in the playoffs or a superbowl. But you also expect your team to improve. Like I said before, I wish Dak didn't get injured in Game one, so that we could see if it was just a game one and then got to see how he would do against the eagles. But that was a very bad showing of no offense. We know that Dak improved once we got Amari Cooper. But how good is Dak without him, a number one receiver that knew how to adjust to some badly underthrown or overthrown balls. Game one I saw a regression in Dak, and it has been long enough with him here to doubt that we have a quarterback that can win big games or playoff games given as you say that we have a broken system. We know already that Dak isn't enough of a leader come playoff time to get his team focused and make up from some of the lack of leadership that we don't get from the coaches.

What does that have to do with this thread?
Well most teams have a goal of winning a title and curate their personnel accordingly. Now if your feel that the Cowboys have some other goal they are trying to achieve then one of these guys might be a choice. But if the objective is to win a title then neither of them is the answer. As far as which of these two guys starts I doubt it matters.

Pointless poll as Dak is the starter and Rush is the back-up that did the best he could to go 4-1......time to move on to Detroit.

I predict Dak will be Dak. If the momentum is going in the Cowboys favor, he will have some good stats. The Cowboys will win some easy games.
But Dak will still be Dak. If the momentum is against the Cowboys, Dak will struggle. There will be three-and-outs, errant passes, and opposing teams getting big leads. This is my prediction.
But, according to his fans:
Dak's return is set for a home game against the Lions, who have seen their hopes for a big season dashed by poor defense. So Dak should, by all accounts of his fans, have a great day, racking up big points and stats.
Then it's the Bears, who are also struggling. Dak should again, by all accounts from his fans, put up big numbers.
Then the bye week.
In the second half of the season, Dak's leadership should, by all accounts from his fans, lead the Cowboys to repeated big wins, regardless of who the Cowboys play. The Cowboys should roll through the playoffs, and their Super Bowl opponent should forfeit to avoid the embarrassment Dak will put them through.
Because after all, if Cooper Rush can beat 4 out of five of the toughest teams in the league, Dak should easily win out.

If Cooper Rush isn't good enough to be the starter, that's fine. I can live with that. But he's only had six games to learn, and he's won five of them.
Dak has had six years, and hasn't proved he should be it.
I think Rush is more accurate, and with this group of receivers, I think it gives him a big advantage.
Cooper has more credible wins in 4 games than Dak has in 4 years.
