What’s going on with Tolbert? Is he a factor as well?

Tolbert had a hamstring injury in camp and fell a couple weeks behind the other receivers. It took him a while to get up to speed on special teams. As a receiver he's been a disappointment so far. Had a terrible preseason which was a shock since he looked good at OTA's and minicamp.

Getting Washington back will be nice. Can Turpin hold up to the hits? Maybe. He’s REALLY small, but I like him.

Dallas isn't going to take on Moore's contract. They'll look to pay some of their own guys, like Diggs, and they'll have to restructure Dak's $49 million cap hit for 2023.

Nope they won't. That's too bad. In two years Dak's contract will be up and he's going to want more. We won't be able to afford Diggs and Parsons.

Has Turpin made a play yet? I keep reading about his explosiveness and play making ability.
He is absolutely explosive. T Hill speed and has some wiggle and vision. Can he catch? Can he get on the same page with Dak? If yes to both, we might have found another gem by accident.

He's too slight. I'm fine giving him a shot on offense. Its apparently the cowboys coaching staff who think thats not such a good idea.

I’d love to see him get a few touches a game as a gadget player.

Probably the most dynamic dude on the team so might as well try.

Washington is ready? I look forward to seeing what he brings. I would also love it if Tolbert emerges, but receivers can take a few years to develop.

honestly forgot they had him. Would be a nice mid season addition. Not a star but improves the overall position quality.

You people and your Turpin hopes. Been telling you all season that the NFL is a different world to the USFL. Turpin is doing fine at what he's doing. All I hoped for was that he could flip the field on returns. He personally got us points last game doing that and maybe will get better as the season goes on and break 1 or 2, not the Devin Hester level everyone was proclaiming. I wouldn't hold my breath for him in the offense until late in the season.

So I was replying about Turpin the other day, and truth be told it's really all about scheme.

You can't really see Cooper Rush doing a whole lot with Kevante Turpin, because of the limitations of his arm, and the fact that nowadays, defensive backs are bigger, taller and faster than ever, on the whole.

But I can see Turpin and Dak actually being a pretty deadly duo with Turpin. But go back to watch the tape on Turpin last game. Right now, Noah Brown is sort of the utility guy, and I like the other possibilities with Brown in terms of line ups, but he's injured this week. With a guy like Turpin, you have to have an arm, and I think Dak has a better understanding of what players do after the catch, and that's where Turpin would be deadly.

Anyway, I think you simply play Turpin on 20% - 25 percent of your offensive plays, and try to work James Washington in this game. When you consider we should be running 2 TE sets, at least half of the time, (That makes us less predictable)Turpin's playing in the slot maybe 30-35% of each game. That way, it's not so obvious we're going to him if he's sort of a regular player anyway.

Additionally, as some have also said, we should play from under center, almost always with the Eagles. That way, the defense doesn't know whether it's a pass or a run.

Shotgun is more effective late in the game when you're down, and teams know you're passing, because it gives you space, so you theoretically make better decisions. This is how you get Turpin the ball, you have your QB under center and him in the slot.. not in shotgun.

And get those two tight ends involved. I like our trio of Hendershot, Ferguson, and McKeon better than Schultz all day.

McKeon even had him some action in the Eagles game. Was just too little too late. But I love me some tight ends, too.

I like what you are saying. I hope KM has the intellegence to put any of than into action. I won't hold my breath. Just saying. ;)

He’s in week 11 of a 6-10 week injury recovery. If he’s not ready in a week or two we should consider moving on a grabbing a guy like Preston Williams, Andy Isabella or a will fuller

Problem is we have all of these guys with 4.5 speed that don't stretch the defense. Washington, Gallup, Lamb and Noah Brown are all very similar types of receivers.

OH NOW EVERYONE WANTS TO REALIZE THIS????? BEEN SAYING this for ages now, we have all the same guys, none of these guys scare you with speed. I don't know what kind of offense this is

Perhaps the question is: can Turpin run routes and catch as well as Beasley did?

Beasley skills with Turpin speed? I'd love to see that.

Yep, I would love to see that too. Just cause you can run fast doesn't mean you have elite change of direction and short area quickness. Not saying he doesn't, just saying it's a different skill set.

- Pure speculation with Turpin and Washington as “ reliable ‘ slot guys.
I haven’t seen anything from Turpin as a receiver- either preseason or reg season to suggest he can be a ‘reliable’ slot guy.
The current vibe I am getting is the coaches view Turpin as purely a returner.

- I heard McCarthy make mention when asked about Turpin as a possible deep threat, per press release and length.
So I got the impression that they are not interested (or confidence?) in him as vertical threat.

- James Washington was counted on to be a Cedrick Wilson type with deceptive-sneaky vertical speed and run after catch ability.
A pre-draft Cowboys interest, they've always liked him. But remains to be seen if he can bring it big and contribute.
i think they will return him to see what happens - and find a way to kick Simi Fehoko to the next year's pet project again.

- I don’t get the feel that we are gonna get anything with Simi Fehoko.
That seems to be again next year’s pet project (and it’s need to practice squad after that)

- But I wished we really had even an occasional speedy spot role ,over the top threat and more overall speed in this WR unit.

- Noah Brown isn’t as smooth gliding as Cedrick Wilson, nor as adept run after catch, but at least we’re getting some signs of life with him on the field.
Whereas I had questions about him being on this roster as just a special teams guy.
You’d like to have a bit more explosiveness (RAC or vertical) outta that 3rd WR role, but at least he gives us something

- McKeon is nuthin special. ..what we’re gonna see of him vs pass, is those typical bootleg roll out routes. His value comes as an in-line blocker.
Geoff Swaim type at the least. His bigger issue is he’s very injury prone

You spend a three on Tolbert and he’s in moth balls you have Turpins speed wasted and just like that Cooper Rush slings it into double coverage on 4th and 1 . From your own side of the field . Washington hasn’t played a down in a Cowboy uniform can’t worry about him . Tolbert . What’s the point get some more weapons involved .
