If Zeke Elliott can't play, it'd be Pollard and Davis filling in.
We could do far worse if we lacked them as options. :starspin:

If it's a significant tear with hanging ligament material, an arthroscopic clean up would probably be the best remedy to put it to bed. Three weeks would be a nice window to get that done and recover. Thankfully for Zeke, the MCL is probably the least impactful part of the knee structure to injure.

Despite low stats, Zeke has been excellent and I've been very happy with the running attack all things considered. I like what they've done with both he and Pollard.

I'd prefer to rest him against Chicago and into the bye and give Pollard and a rook the duties. With Robert Quinn gone, good game to work out the passing offense a little bit more. The running attack won 4 games for us with Cooper Rush. We can rest them a couple of weeks.

A Grade 2 sprain involves partial tearing, by definition. Grade 1 does not, while Grade 3 is a complete tear.
A grade 1 also involves torn tissue. It’s just less of a tear than a grade 2. I’ve had more than a little personal experience with it.

Just trying to keep it in the simplest terms for the audience. If it's Grade 2, as reported, it's a partial tear. Seems to be some conflicting reports, though.

Either way it's not good news after we saw him play through a similar situation last season.

Partially torn MCL when 34 years old. Certain angles the knee hurt like hell. Other times, not so much. Doctor said my choice whether to surgically repair. I chose no surgery. Only hurt if I would really run hard on it. My recommendation for NFL running back is get it fixed.

I think I might get some hate here but losing Zeke isn’t a big deal. Best game was 81 yards. Only has 1 20plus carry this season. 4 yards a carry. He has been terrible on third and shorts. Not much in the passing game. He is very average. The challenge will be limiting Pollard so he doesn’t get beat up. That said Zeke is infinitely replaceable.

That's all we need, a gimpy Elliott again hurting the team trying to play on one leg. Let him heal properly dammmmittt, injuries happen, players sit. He won't be the first nor the last.

Pollard will have to improve his blitz pick up. That's one area where Zeke is clearly better. Doesn't seem like much until the QB gets clobbered by an unblocked blitzer.

At some point someone, if not himself, needs to lookout for this dude's general health - he's hopefully got a very long healthy life to live. I am still surprised he played last year with that injury...hopefully everything is above board and he's okay, but I could see the organization just running him into the ground and not thinking twice.

If Zeke sits, and thats still a big if,, wouldn't Ollison be the call up before Davis?
Whoever has proven to pass protect better to the coaches will be the call up IMO.

Those Lions players were intentionally going at our players' knees! (ie...Zeke, Noah, Shultz, CeeDee) The NFL needs to come down hard with fines and suspensions against any player who goes at another player's knees in order to tackle them. It is inexcusable! They can aim much higher like one is taught to make a proper tackle.
