Gisele Bündchen files for divorce from Tom Brady

But I don't understand why he's expected to retire. Troy Aikman, John Madden, Bill Belichick and a number of former NFL players/coaches, even current coaches all are working into their late ages, yet he's expected to completely retire at 45? Lol that's crazy

Shows how much of a cushy life she has lived. There are husbands out there who go far longer without seeing their wives and their marriages are strong. She knew what Tom was like before marrying him - he will always be partly married to the game. Heck, just read stories about how competitive he is from other teammates when it's not even football. He'll pester people to play poker all night until he finds a way to get the advantage on them. Has competition with people to see who can get into the building first.

She knew all of this.

just maybe that was the whole problem; she expected him to be there and he was not going to be. How many retired NFL players keep working those kinds of hours after retiring if they do not have to?

Most of the people I mentioned above don't have to keep working, but they still do. Troy Aikman doesn't have to keep working, Bill Belichick doesn't have to keep working but they do. These aren't your normal everyday guys you run across that would retire after getting a few millions. They have a totally different mindsets and one of the main reasons why there are insanely successful. Hell look at Bezos and Musk, have enough money to just travel the world if they wanted too, but still work. Different mindsets

No doubt

Fwiw, people that remain mentally and physically engaged usually live much longer.

She expected an ultra competitive guy like that to just change his mindset

She made him choose and he chose football…sad.

Is this confirmed? Or just rumor? Besides, your partner shouldn't be giving you ultimatums.

Something else had to be going on here. No way she's been with him for this long and suddenly decides it's her or football. It doesn't make sense. It's not like he can do this forever. His time is running out. So she goes through all of those years, and now decides to give an ultimatum when he's just about done? No, something else isn't right.

Love the post. Mainly because I have always found this fascinating. I am the polar opposite and just can't comprehend that mindset. Work, IMO is an infringement to my happiness. When I came into a decent amount of money, I immediately transferred back to a job that paid 30k less, just because it was 90% easier.

The only other explanation is that some of these people love what they do. In that case, I can't blame them. But is it that? Or do they want to stay relevant? Fame can cause you to do odd things. And people get funny when it comes to money.

The superintendent where I used to work never took a sick day or vacation day for almost 40 years before he retired. I think that has been slightly exaggerated, because he probably took a few sick days when he was sick. But for the most part it's true. This is not like coaching the Patriots, there's nothing fun or enjoyable about his job.

So what is this mindset? What's the point? What's going on in your head that you would sacrifice yourself for no good reason?

The man that runs an Amazon warehouse makes between 130-150k. He gets 1 week vacation. I'll take my 80k a year job with 6 weeks vacation, 3 weeks sick days, 3 personal days, and a floating holiday over that in a heartbeat. I'm happiest when I'm not in work.

Why people act like Tom was just gonna be home? He just signed a 10 year contract with fox, so he was still gonna be away from home. I said it before, but if she really divorced him over playing one more season, that's weak and sad excuse. People completely forget their vows after a few years of marriage.
Also, imagine if Tom was threatening divorce because he wanted her to quit her job. Society would be outraged

He would be away working for Fox, but not nearly as much as playing. The on-air guys don't spend nearly as much time rehearsing as players spend practicing for games.

I have no inside info, but from what I've read, the real problem is that he promised to cut back his hours by switching jobs, then he didn't.

And if that was the issue, it's still a horrible reason. Brady I think is done, let him get this season over with, and she's pissed at him then that's understandable, but to end a marriage, break apart a family over that. It's ridiculous

I've mentioned that I was an X heavy gambler about 50 times already. We're good at sniffing things out, and not making stupid bets. But if Las Vegas had odds on what happened, I am dropping a king's ransom on she found out he cheated, and then he tried to smooth things over with that hiatus he took from the team in the off season. I am just using Occam's razor here. I am betting chalk. I don't have enough information otherwise. The rumors is just smut.

I agree 100%......like you said, it appears she stood by him all the years but suddenly it's his career or her? I guess it's very possible she a real problem with him retiring and unretiring especially since he has nothing to accomplish. I guess one could argue that was selfish but even doesn't add up because you only talking about one more year at the most. This alone doesn't sound like enough to give up on 13 years of marriage, at least not to me. I agree with you, it seems a little more going on here than just football but either way, I hope they are both at peace for the sake of the kids.

Well, lots, most of the time with divorces, this word isn't far away.......lol

I heard Antonio Brown was hitting it while He stayed at Brandy's House

This is more than one more year of football, it was the classic ultimatum ploy, "do this or else". I've had a few ultimatums thrown in my face and I always took the "or else" side. Lost an engagement over one and I was happy about it, saved me from a long dark road with a master manipulator.

Either that or someone was a cheater, hmm, wonder which one?
Women in a nutshell. Master manipulators, snakes in the grass, ultimatum queens, backstabbers, natural cheaters. Literally all of them. It's biologically programmed in their DNA.

It's important for us men to wake up and avoid relationships and marriage with these foul creatures.

Whoa, back up, your being misogynistic there. I've got a pretty good lady now, we understand each other.

I had one that stole $70k+ from me and tried to steal over $650k from me

I've also had others that have ranged from completely ghosting me to just leaving me for other men just because I'm 5'8" instead of 6'2" or taller. For the record I'm otherwise very handsome and only weigh 145 pounds and am athletic and fit.

Most women are shallow like that, and shallow women are the very worst. The adults in my life told me my height wouldn't matter after high school because my intelligence, personality and wealth and career prospects would outweigh that and carry the day.

*They* lied to me.

Or, you're dating the wrong women. Let me guess, you're only dating barbie dolls.
