This could go on….point is, the team that gets hot when it matters most is almost always the SB champ. Can the e-girls stay red hot all season? History says an emphatic NO.

as much as i respect 8-0, i don't even see it as red hot there been some great luck when opponents they've been facing on who they are facing especially at QB, timely TOs by those inferior players and like the jags game where an anomaly of playing in bad weather and getting 4 sacks that all are fumbles.. i mean they barely won that game. even look at all those close wins in the 2nd half where teams nearly came all the way back, some luck was thrown in getting out of those games with wins. our game with them was a perfect example, big lead all the breaks in the first half, came out flat in the 2nd half we got close to 3-point game and Rush gives them the gift they needed at the perfect time to stop the bleeding. they've also been as lucky in the injury department, more than any other team in the league, they seem to have played mostly with their 22 starters most snaps of any other team ive seen. I could be wrong but that what ive seen.

they are on luck streak, its all working out and in sports some luck is needed to be undefeated but looking at common opponents etc we are not far off from their level.

To me it doesn’t matter that much if we win the division. The last two SB winners- rams and bucs were the #4 and #5 seeds going into the playoffs. People forget that the Bucs didn’t even win their division in 2020. I would like to win the east but it doesn’t mean we’re out of it if we don’t.

True, but we have to get better down the stretch. We didn't pick up a top rated player in free agency, Hankins has size and some skill but he's hardly one of the top DTs in the league. Cutting down on the penalties would be a big help...

Eagles have been 89% healthy, number one in the league for heath so far. We are 16th.

One thing I'll say about those gifts. The team has to be able to receive gifts given to them by their opponent. The Eagles have been good in that regard. Not many missed fumbles or dropped INT's when the opportunity has been presented.

SO FAR is my point, IF or beter yet WHEN those gifts dry up and we will see how the last 9 games go. we have showed far more depth and ability to overcome missing key starters and came through it 6-2.. now we get to see our real team the back half and maybe we catch a luck streak.

It’s an old cliche’ but it’s especially true in the NFL- it’s not how you start but how you finish.

we will get better just having a healthy team and all our key starters back. Dak and this offense will get better each game and its already showing.

I honestly don't think Philly has been lights out and winning in great fashion. They barely beat us with a back up. IN PHILLY. Most of their wins are by small margins.

In fairness, they beat the piss out of us for a half and then coasted. They've actually done that in a few games where they smoke someone in the first half and then just kind of play with their thumbs up their butts in the 2nd half.

They are the best team in the NFC right now for sure. They might be the best team in the entire NFL (despite their issues recently I think Buffalo is the best). Does that mean they will win a SB? Of course not. But it's funny watching Cowboys fans try to convince themselves a 9-0 team isn't all that good. The NFC is down this year for sure, so there is an easier path for sure for Philly to get to the SB. TB isn't all that good. GB stinks. Those were two massive hurdles in the NFC in recent years that just aren't there right now.

Put it this way. The same people trying to argue Philly isn't all that good would be absolutely creaming themselves if the Cowboys were 9-0 with the same results, schedule, etc.

In the last two decades, the teams that start red hot are almost never the ones who win a ring. Sure the e-girls are 9-0 but mark me down as a doubter they are the team of destiny.

My theory as to why teams that start hot have a very hard time winning the SB is this- the season is too long and the competition too close to maintain that level of dominance. The teams that win SBs the last two decades tend to be the ones who peak at the right time.

Evidence of my point- look at all the SB winners the last two decades that struggled at some point during the reg season:
  • 2021 Rams- were 6-4 after 10 games, then got hot all the way to the SB even though they did not have the coveted #1 seed. In fact, they were the #4 seed.
  • 2020 Bucs- were 7-5 after 12 games, did not win their division but were hot at the end of the season and it carried them all the way to a Lombardi. Btw, they were the #5 seed.
  • 2019 chiefs- were 6-4 after 10 games. Mahomes was only in his 3rd season and was still figuring out some things. Like the previous two teams, they got hot at the right time.
  • 2018 Pats- were 9-5 in early December that year and finished as the AFC’s #2 seed. But they won their last 5 games all the way to their last SB win.
  • 2015 broncos were 10-4 in December that year, including a stretch between early Nov to mid Dec where they were 3-4. But they got hot down the stretch winning their last 5 including the SB.
  • 2012 ravens were 9-5 in mid Dec and barely won their division. Again, they got hot at the right time.
This could go on….point is, the team that gets hot when it matters most is almost always the SB champ. Can the e-girls stay red hot all season? History says an emphatic NO.

Philly has been lucky with their schedule so far even playing Dallas with Rush. They are a good team and one that has a legitimate chance to get to the super bowl but they are not as good as 9-0 and certainly not a juggernaut.

Eagles lose 1 game and we take care of them on Christmas and we are having another conversation.
So you actually think Dallas is going to win out for that too matter?

I've seen it said in this thread at least 3 times that the Eagles are 9-0. They are actually 8-0. Hopefully you guys are just jinxing them. ;)

Philly plays the commanders Monday night. Are they really wrong though?

The NFC is so bad this year could be ripe for a team who normally wouldn’t have a shot.

And home field in a cold weather venue is normally a good advantage.

Assuming they get home field and you don’t like the Egirls, who do you like ?

Good news is the AFC will probably take care of whoever comes out of NFC.

Unless there’s a 2021 situation again where a team from the wildcard round ends up knocking off all the favorites. Would Miami be so heavily favored over Philly? Would Tennessee who already almost beat KC? Baltimore?

....Well, our backup QB came within 3 points and made it a game. Eagles made Texans look 6-2, that is until the end.

I agree with Bullet. Although, i see division will come down to final games, whomever wins it.

It comes down to their December games, well actually, December and early January games now.

For the Cowboys, that would be the six post-Thanksgiving games.

Interesting to note that the Eagles must play the Giants twice during that six game stretch.

Also interesting to note that, for the first time in several years, the Cowboys will be given their "mini-bye" immediately after Thanksgiving instead of having to follow it up with another Thursday night game.

The Cowboys will play the eagles on Saturday, since Christmas is Sunday, followed by a Thursday night game against the Titans......meaning they will have another long week before finishing the season against the Commanders.
