Dallas Cowboys #3 in defensive ranking.

if you get a touchdown on the first possession, you have a 70.29% chance of winning. If you don't, you have a 76.38% chance of losing, regardless of whether that failure was on a missed or made field goal, forced turnover, or failed 4th down conversion. That's an enormous swing, but the reason why is pretty simple: even with a made field goal, you've now surrendered the ball and can only hope to send the game to 2OT (or get a turnover), and that only gets you a win about a third of the time - and if you miss, you're really up a creek. Getting a touchdown, and thus forcing your opponent to follow suit just to get to 2OT, on the other hand, is a huge advantage. But is it big enough to justify going for it on 4th down, where failing to convert virtually guarantees a loss?
There are no second overtimes except in the playoffs. After the 10 minute OT, it’s a tie.

Dak is NOT clutch. I just recently watched a team that came up clutch time after time on the biggest stage in their sport.

Dak is not worth his contract and the Cowboys better be looming at moving on from him.

And McCarthy’s decision to go for it on 4TH abd short in OT when he has a kicker that has a reasonable shot at the go-ahead FG in OT?

Cowboys fans were shorted today.

MM figured we had a better chance of making the 1st down than trying a 53 yd FG and IF we missed it our defense would still have to stop the Packers from even scoring a FG. Our defense already showed they probably couldn't stop Green Bays offense from scoring.
MM knew we needed a TD, so he chose the lesser of 2 evils.

Yeah but they lost to a 7-1 team, we lost to a 3-6 team.
THey lost at home and had a 17 point lead in the 3rd quarter. Oh yeah they also pulled a Joe Pisarcik that cost them the game. You can't get much worse than that.

Yes, we had many opportunities to put away the game and we should have done this and that. But I'm just so tired of waiting to get screwed by the referees. I don't mean bad calls. Those happen. I mean the bad calls that cause you to lose games. Everyone always says "don't let the refs be a factor...it's your own fault when you put yourself in a position to be affected by referees", but I'm just so done with knowing that, if the refs can screw us, they will wait until key points in the game to screw us. It makes it so impossible to enjoy games.

I have closely observed the Packers for 50 years.

I have followed the Cowboys, though less closely, for 50 years.

This is not a good Packer team, not even close.

To me, this is the most surprising outcome in a Packer-Cowboy contest since 1975 when a really poor (4-10) Packers team beat the (10-4 and eventual NFC Super Bowl representative) Cowboys 19-17 in Texas Stadium.

Still in shock.

I honestly think he remembers how that played out last year vs Brady. And he knows Rodgers as well as anyone…

well "apathetic" towards wins and loses, not so much on how those happen... as a Cowboys fan if you were around when they were good you can't tell me that loses now bother you like they did when they were good... You have to be use to the loses and no success over the past 20 years, you can't help but be callused to the blown games.
Well, I'm also 20 something years older than I was then, so I can't say how much calm I can attribute to being jaded and how much I can credit to maturity

It's this wild inconsistency that I cannot bear. I'd rather have someone that was half as good, but consistent, than this hot mess!!!
Dak had 2 bad throws-one of which was on Cee Dee. Even with all that-he put up 28. 28 with a so called good defense should of been enough. When quarterbacks throw int's. Not just Dak but most quarterbacks throw int's on Sunday. That doesn't mean your defense has to let them score touchdowns. Even if the defense holds them to field goals we win. Brady -Rodgers and Mahomes throw int's also. Just that their defense usually stops or prevents the turnover to become a score. That's why they call it DEFENSE!

Fat Mike not going for the FG was just dumb, you take your 3 and play defense.

Well division is toast now; we are 3.5 games back with 8 to play. We pretty much have to run the table and have Philly play .500 ball from here on out. Neither of those things are happening, so division is a wrap now.

And if we lose to the Vikes next week, which is highly probable, even a Wildcard is starting to look iffy.
