Thoughts about Zeke today?

He was rested.

Zeked looked even better than Pollard on Thursday.

That's what happens when you get to sit out for a while, then come in after another back.

That's what Pollard has benefited from recently. I'm not saying Pollard isn't good. But it helps when you get to come in and clean up.

Zeke still has it, if he's healthy and fresh.

He looked better. A little bit quicker than he has looked but the big thing was the decisiveness. He looked like he was running much more downhill. I thought this was his best game since the first half of last season.

For the Zeke fans who are going to get excited about this and try to rub it in the faces of those who like Pollard, imagine watching this in reverse where Zeke was outplaying Pollard like today week after week but Pollard kept getting the start and more carries. Would be kind of frustrating.

Regardless, I kind of wonder if Pollard's success is actually rubbing off or pushing Zeke. Like I said, Zeke was running hard today in a way I haven't seen in a while.

That's the problem with some of you, though, acting like it's some sort of paradigm.

There's actually no false dilemma here.. That's constructed by the fanbase.

Doesn't make it reality.

Pollard has a high of 131 yards on the ground and a low of 6.
Zeke has a high of 92 yards on the ground and a low of 49.

You need me to do the math for ya? Or do you just not understand the meaning of the word "consistent."

Let me highlight for everyone what Ronald “Hi, Welcome to BestBuy” T24 likes to do.

He will isolate one game, and act like it defines Pollard. In this case Pollard averaged 3.3 YPC against the Giants. Now we hear Ronald saying “welp, looks like Pollard came back to Earth.”

Of course, predictably he doesn’t do that to Zeke.

Here’s consistency Ronald:

Pollard
2022 is averaging 5.6 YPC
2021 averaged 5.5 YPC
…and for his career has averaged 5.3 YPC for his career.

Zeke
2022 is averaging 4.1 YPC

Tell me how Zeke’s numbers are CONSISTENTLY trending?

He should try a different look. He looks like a homeless person. He should ditch the beard for a season. I'll bet it slows him down, some weird aerodynamic principle.

What do the voices inside your head sound like? Jerry Lewis or Buddy Hackett? Red Skelton maybe?

Actually, the issue was created by Kellen Moore. Up until recently, Zeke was getting the lion's share of the carries despite Pollard regularly outplaying him. That's what triggered the complaints and lead to the Zeke vs Pollard stuff.

If KM continues giving carries out equally and Pollard gets around 15, you are correct that there is no dilemma.

This continues to be the problem here. People seem to want some guaranteed number of touches for Pollard regardless of what the game dictates. The Cowboys should never go into any game with some hard and fast number for either back. See who is getting the better of the matchup that day and go from there. Yes there have been games where Pollard has performed well. But there have also been plenty of games where he has been completely stuffed. It has happened twice already this year. Yet people persist with this "he needs touches no matter what" mantra. No he doesn't. Frankly I believe that Zeke should be getting 20 carries a game and if the Cowboys were sticking to that formula they would win 80% of their games. I say that because history has shown that the Cowboys win 80% of the games when they do give him 20 or more carries. Now I understand that it's not JUST about the number of carries but also the style of game it dictates as well. Smash mouth.. wear the defense down, control the clock, win time of possession, rest your defense, keep the opposing defense from teeing off on Dak. It's a winning formula 80% of the time. I also understand that as an older back they know they can't lean on him for 20 carries a game for 17 games.. Enter Tony Pollard.. Give Pollard 10-15 totes a game to offload some wear on Zeke and to provide an alternative style to Zeke.

We know TP doesn't exact the same toll on the defense that Zeke does (we all saw how the Giants defenders kept dropping like flies on Thanksgiving) but he hurt them in other ways. Namely more big plays. That too can be a winning formula. Just a different one. I for one am okay with either.. as long as we win. But I have no interest in this continuing agenda driven BS about one guy needing more touches than the other or "outplaying the other." This is a team game.. If the team won then both played well enough to win.. Why that isn't good enough for so many people will always be a mystery to me.

Maybe even go back to the haircut he had his rookie year.

What are your lunch breaks like? Warming up yesterday’s leftovers in the BestBuy break room, or walking across the street to Taco Bell and calling mom?

So Buddy Hackett then? From this point forward if I read any of your posts I will play them back in my head in Buddy Hackett's voice. At least that way the clown show your posts are will make sense.
