The NFL doesnt work the way you think it should. Thats the problem.

You would be laughed out of the league the first busdriver you let go because you were looking for Brady.
I'm not looking for Brady. If I can pay someone under $10 million a year to do the job of someone' being paid circa $40 million a year then the people paying 4 x the salary to someone for very similar team results should be laughed at.

I am still of the opinion Daks replacement needs to be drafted and put on the bench. This year. If we dont make noise in the playoffs.

I’m a fan of Dak, but I completely agree with this. Keep drafting talented QBs with potential. It doesn’t have to be round 1. There’s no reason for us to be fretting over who might be our backup among a bunch of scrubs. We should be developing a guy who has something special, whether arm or mobility.

I’d disagree. I think if you have an above average QB you go all in while you can and that is your window. It won’t be easy - but they can get creative with contracts to keep a competitive roster.

Our QB play jumped to 3rd in the NFL in EPA / play when Dak returned and we almost upped our PPG by 2 TDs.
Rush wouldn't be considered a top 50 QB in this league. Even someone like Mariota would likely enjoy a similar jump in team performance with this team.

Or. It means that the team is very talented especially on defense. Problem with that is. You cant say the team is very talented because Daks contract is supposed to prohibit the Cowboys from putting a talented team on the field. So in turn. You leave that part out and say Rush is why we won 4 games. Its very funny to see.

And I am still of the opinion Daks replacement needs to be drafted and put on the bench. This year. If we dont make noise in the playoffs.
Stop lying lol

Why would you even pay 10M for a busdriver?

Its pay league minimum or use a rookie contract. There is no in between according to posters on here. If Brady-like player are only worth 20% of cap and everyone else is trash...why pay anything over league minimum or rookie deal for trash?

The league doesnt work the way you think it should. Youre going to be a trailblazer when you become a GM, though. My money is on you reaching GM status...getting addicted to the 1M+ yearly salary and then being super conservative with trades and contracts to save your cushy job. Businesses dont like risk...and youre all about crap shoot drafts or risky your teams other star players careers letting busdrivers go looking for Brady.

We used Dak for 5 years and posters are upset about 2 years of cap crunch from a deserved contract at a position that teams pay premiums for busdrivers. Its a pathetic attitude.

This is ridiculous. 4rd pick with a top 5 starter in front of him. Used is the incorrect term.

The Green Bay game was another reminder that the team go as far as the defense and o-line go plus Pollard. The defense allowed 28 points in regulation and people harped on about how poorly they played. The Eagles D just gave up 33 points against Green Bay but the offense and Hurts responded by putting up 40 points to secure the W.

Sometimes your QB has to produce the goods in a shoot out in order for the team to win. Prescott failed again in this regard because he isn't a difference maker and therefore shouldn't be paid like one.

The wailing on this website when Dak signs his next extension is going to be very entertaining. You will have to keep them off of skyscrapers and away from sharp objects.

I'm not the biggest Dak guy around, but his extension is inevitable

You cannot pay anyone 10 million a year. It’s ridiculous, but just for discussion, if Dallas made Rush the starter tomorrow to replace Dak permanently, His agent wouldn’t let him suit up for less than 25-30 million. That’s the game. You have to pay your starting QB no matter how good or bad he is….unless you keep signing backups and then make them starters for one year.

However, it’s been proven time and again that the money isn’t really an issue. Teams can pay any player they really want no matter what they are paying the QB. It’s perfectly clear that Amare Cooper was released for reasons beyond the salary cap or Dak’s salary because they continue to pay guys they want and can even pursue OBJ mid season. Fans should like a player or not based on production; that’s fair and a matter of opinion, but I’ll never understand why fans care what the player’s salary is.

If we've won a Super Bowl by that point I promise you nobody will be upset.

If we have zero playoff wins by that point then any wailing about it will be warranted.

They finally let my boy Pollard shine and that helped tremendously.

He would've done the same thing if Rush was QB. Rush had to be bogged down by Zeke though.
LOL. Just stop it. The defense played lights out when Rush was under center. Since Dak has been back the defense has been getting bullied in the run game. The numbers are there for you to see man but you just refuse to believe them.

The Cowboys are literally averaging like 30ppg since Dak has been back. And you are trying to sit there with a straight face and say its not Dak but when they were winning with Rush it was all Rush?

Just stop my dude.

The objective is to have a QB that can lead your team successfully; it is not to have a deal they can walk.

If they let him walk, which they are not going to do as Booger has him trained to say all the right things, what are they going to do at QB? The draft? Take a good look at their track record at that position since Aikman. Think they couldn’t end up with a Trubisky or Wilson?

Booger has successfully married Prescott to the DC QB position and that is not changing. However much that costs.

Apologies as my previous post could come across as ambiguous.

My reference to quarterbacks being paid under $10 a year is on the premise that I would only pay rookie QBs and move on after their cycle has ended and they are due a second contract unless they are an elite QB in which case they are worth the money as they are the difference between winning and losing several games every season.

I banged on about the team drafting Hurts and stated that on here on countless occasions. We would have gone from a banged up Prescott on his rookie deal to Hurts on his rookie deal and would be looking to draft again next season to replace Hurts after picking up his 5th year option.
