Eagles fans lame excuse is to insult their backup QB

Eagles fans are saying crap like, "You barely beat a journeyman backup."

These are the same dirtbags who booed when Donovan McNabb was drafted. The truth is this Gardner Minshew guy is very good. I think he'll end up starting somewhere.

Minshew, and Hurts for that matter, don’t play defense. What is the excuse on that side of the ball?

No. He’s not good. There’s a reason he doesn’t start. He’s been in the league for long enough. He is what he is. A backup. Just because he shredded this defense doesn’t mean he’s good. He’s not. You will see that if he plays again. Heck, we’ve faced him before and he did nothing. Yesterday was an indictment on this defense, not on that sorry qb.

No fluke there. Our offense was riding the peak of their waves. They can be as good as we saw yesterday and then lay an egg the next. However, they have been “on” a lot more than they’ve been off and that’s why I believe that can win at least 2 games in the playoffs…….just got to get healthy on defense if that possible

Gardner Minshew has started for several teams. Cooper Rush has not. They barely beat us when Cooper Rush was our QB earlier this season. According to their logic, that's even worse.

anytime we see a 6th round no name become starter, it’s natural to grade them on that draft class curve. He’s had moments of greatness and moments of ineptitude. I would take him over Cooper Rush but that’s not saying a lot.

Also would have loved our new fat guy Hankins back in the mix… AB, LVE, and the other injured vets on defense back in the game.

Especially would have enjoyed having Steele back in and maybe Dak isn’t beat up all game.

The Eagles built in all star roster around Hurts. The Eagles might have the best offensive line and offensive weapons in the NFL. Minshew knows the offense and plugged right in. The defense forced 3 turnovers from Minshew and that was the difference in the game.

actually, I remember seeing threads entitled, “ would we have beat the eagles with Dak?”. It was a legitimate question and because the game was still close in the 4th quarter, there was a very good chance we could have won it…….of course those were the days when the defense was holding teams to under 25 points or so.

With the way minshew was able to step up in the pocket untouched, hurts would have taken off a dozen times for well over 100 yards...they are right to say that they likely would have won had hurts been there.

However, he wasn't and they didn't so wahhhhhhhhhh
