Zeke without Pollard

19 attempts for 37 yards.
1.9 ypc.

3.9ypc for the year.

Without Pollard, the running game was putrid. Zeke is beyond washed up.

Zeke got the tough yards this year.......most of the time. The issue is his contract. He is not worth half the amount he is due to be paid next season and is a prime candidate to be cut if he doesn't renegotiate.

Maybe we eat it if Pollard wasn't due for a big raise after making his first pro bowl and being one of the more electrifying playmakers in the league. But, can't pay both.

I don't care who you are, if you aren't getting at least 3 ypc then the blocking is awful. You can make an argument that ypc between 4-6 can be a determining factor in the quality of the RB. But less than 2 ypc and it doesn't matter who your back is, the line and TE's failed big time.

Are you forgetting about all the blocking and tough yards? What about being the INT machines best friend?
Man zeke did have some critical smashing blocks that allowed a free pocket for Dak. That one blitz on the right side that allowed Dak a great pass and no injury...was a thing of beauty.

I think Tony woulda got trucked.

GOOD CALL glad you appreciate that kind of hard work.

:cool::p:D

Their line killed our line plain and simple.

We're gonna have days like this....so go to Dak. It's all good.

LMAO off Pollard have 3 games under 2YPC Heck last game zeke had better numbers.. they both need an OL, both need each other..

these posts become more braindead by the minute. hes not washed that OL was terrible last night and that DL one of the top DL in football, need proof their year average was 80 YPG given up under 3.8 YPC , umm we got 87. its their strength...

Zeke is beyond washed up.
He didn't have a good game, but no back would have last night. The OL was mostly AWFUL. Toss in a side dish of terrible play calling and playing against a very good run defense and it adds up to a completely forgettable night for Zeke. Doesn't make him 'beyond washed up' by any means. He just needs to be set up for success and last night he very clearly wasn't.

Being a good RB is mostly about speed. NFL defenses are so fast that you have to hit holes quick or they close. If you are slow or dance around too long, there will be no holes. Even great blockers can't hold blocks forever.

Beyond getting through the hole, speed turns short runs into long runs.

Zeke's a good blocker, nice guy, sets up blockers, knows the scheme, etc. but he simply isn't fast enough anymore which is why he is 34th in the NFL in YPC behind a really good line. Pollard is 6th with only 1 RB ahead of him.

The line didn't have its best day yesterday and got beat several times but there were several runs where the play was blocked well and Zeke's lack of footspeed left yards on the table.

It wasn’t the point of keep running into a brick wall it was the point of keep trying. I do like that he did that. I just can’t stand it when Moore wants to go pass happy when we’re at our own 10 yard line.

It's like they think there some Kool Kids Klub....that makes them SO football intelligent...so in-the-know, and this stuff gets them membership.

They just look...well...we know.

If you look back over our past 3 games prior to this one, both Zeke and Pollard have struggled to find much running room. Difference of about .1 ypc between them in each game. Shutting down the run and going for INT's seems to be the gameplan each week for slowing our offense down.
