19 attempts for 37 yards.
1.9 ypc.

3.9ypc for the year.

Without Pollard, the running game was putrid. Zeke is beyond washed up.

The Titans' run defense is #2 in the league and is only giving up 80.5 yards per game. 2nd behind the 49ers. It hurt not having Pollard but we were winning this game based on the play of our defense and our offensive passing game. You are not going to make a living running on the Titans. The pass defense is #31 in the league so that is where you want to attack. However, I think Moore kept it pretty conservative because Dallas never felt the Titans were a real threat. Lots of 1st down run plays.

Being a good RB is mostly about speed. NFL defenses are so fast that you have to hit holes quick or they close. If you are slow or dance around too long, there will be no holes. Even great blockers can't hold blocks forever.

Beyond getting through the hole, speed turns short runs into long runs.

Zeke's a good blocker, nice guy, sets up blockers, knows the scheme, etc. but he simply isn't fast enough anymore which is why he is 34th in the NFL in YPC behind a really good line. Pollard is 6th with only 1 RB ahead of him.

The line didn't have its best day yesterday and got beat several times but there were several runs where the play was blocked well and Zeke's lack of footspeed left yards on the table.
Get your eyesight checked
And what about the 9 times Davis ran that got only 1 yd?

If Zeke ran for 80 yd against a bottom ranked run defense would people say the same thing? Or would they look at the performance for what it is?

Fans like you would not like it and say it was against a poor run defense, he should have had 200 yards.
Seen it all too many times.

Even with Pollard, the titans run defense was not going to give up a lot of rushing yards. Know your opponent dude.

It wasn’t the point of keep running into a brick wall it was the point of keep trying. I do like that he did that. I just can’t stand it when Moore wants to go pass happy when we’re at our own 10 yard line.

Yep .. some of these football neophytes just don't get that it really doesn't matter if the defense is stuffing the run game.. you still have to keep it in play or your QB will leave the game in a body bag. You simply cannot let the defense get into pin your ears back and go after the quarterback mode. So even if it's only 2-3 yards a pop.. you still have to do it.

Look if Zeke comes back I think he should get full back money.

That said don't take anything from these last 2 games because it's like a practice session nobody's serious out there

The most overrated thing in the NFL is the Dallas Cowboys offensive line. Those Titan DTs were in our backfield as much as Zeke was.

It did get noticeably worse once Biadasz went down but it was never good last night. We had one play that was blocked worth a damn.. The rest of the running plays were stillborn because our line lost. I do think the line is good when asked to drive block.. but Philbin seems to favor what I used to call the "Dancing Bears" blocking scheme.. where the linemen typically stand up and dance with the defenders rather than drive them off the ball. I mean I get why they do it.. It's so the running plays don't look different from the pass plays.. but these defenders nowadays are so quick and athletic you simply can't stand around and dance with them.. They will simply out flank you and be in your backfield. If you want to move the ball on the ground against that kind of front you have to be willing to go smash mouth.. Pound them over and over and over until the dam breaks.

Fans need to stop with the FB stuff. It is not going to happen.
Blame Jerry for the $$$ not the player.

Unfortunately Zeke was out when we played those bottom ranked defense. Pollard lit them up though which was nice to see.

Gosh. Who signed the contract?

So you're saying that if you were one of the best in the business at your job and your boss asked you to sign a 90 million dollar contract you would have refused and said "Nah, I'm good.. the satisfaction of a job well done is more than enough for me.."
