I’m not a zeke guy but cmon prime Jim brown wouldn’t have done much last night

the Oline don’t block an better than that it’s gonna be on passing games shoulder and we all pretty much know that’s not a recipe for sb

There's going to be games like that. There's some teams out there that have hellacious fronts that are going to kick our line's butt because no matter what PFF or anybody else says, they aint that good. I mean they don't completely suck but they're not dominant and haven't been for a while. I do think the tight end blocking is more of a problem than gets talked about. A lot of our running plays seem to count on them to make a block.. and a lot of those plays fail cause they don't make it. I don't know how you fix that frankly other than to draft/sign a big body blocking tight end. The group we have now doesn't seem to have even a B level blocker among them. The good news is that QB and the passing game are pretty damn good aint they..

He gave us some tough runs out there last night. Yea he didn’t light it up, but he got us a few first down runs that he had to fight real hard for. A few runs he seemed to slip, not saying he would have ran it for 20 yards on those slips but they definitely contributed to that low ypc.

So you're saying that if you were one of the best in the business at your job and your boss asked you to sign a 90 million dollar contract you would have refused and said "Nah, I'm good.. the satisfaction of a job well done is more than enough for me.."
No I'm saying hes not living up to the contract he signed.

pure genius you guys

He also lit up some blitzers to keep dak free and safe.

Davis hit the hole faster and is much quicker, you saw that too. Why would he need his eyes checked for something everyone saw?

Because he apparently didn't notice that on 9 of his 10 runs Davis averaged less than 1.5 yards a pop. The offensive line lost last night. Credit to Davis for the one nice run but there was a huge hole on that one and he wasn't touched until 15 yards. Zeke was never that lucky. Ask yourself this, if the line had blown open a huge hole for Zeke one time and he got 20+ yards on that one carry would that change anything about how you felt about the other carries for 1.5 yards a pop?

You're right.. he's not.. But it's not his fault that the Cowboys changed OCs and with it their offensive philosophy after they signed the deal. The Cowboys CHOSE not to make Zeke live up to the contract. They CHOSE to draft TP to take carries from him and give him plays off. THEY wasted his best years.. I'm not holding that against HIM..

Your off topic, the point was Davis hit the hole faster and looked quicker. Are you saying that's not true?

Loool, the Zeke Boyz coming running out with endless alibis to explain away Zeke’s game.

But when Pollard averaged less YPC last game than Zeke last week they were heeeeehawin’ like the donkeys they are.

Don’t be surprised folks. We saw this before with Jaylon Smith; there will always be cling-ons in the fanbase that go down with the ship.

Get your eyesight checked

People watching Zeke and seeing some top shelf back are just deluding themselves or don't know anything about football. Its beyond an eyesight issue, its a mental issue.

Zeke used to be awesome but NFL RB's fall off a cliff because the difference between being a half step faster than the defense or a half step slower is massive.

Look
I like Zeke he cracks me up.
I Think there is a place for him on the team just not at tailback.
If he'll take on more FB for less money I'm good with it. I'd like to see Davis get more reps when Pollards resting.

Being a good RB is mostly about speed. NFL defenses are so fast that you have to hit holes quick or they close. If you are slow or dance around too long, there will be no holes. Even great blockers can't hold blocks forever.

Beyond getting through the hole, speed turns short runs into long runs.

Zeke's a good blocker, nice guy, sets up blockers, knows the scheme, etc. but he simply isn't fast enough anymore which is why he is 34th in the NFL in YPC behind a really good line. Pollard is 6th with only 1 RB ahead of him.

https://www.pro-football-reference.com/years/2022/rushing.htm

The line didn't have its best day yesterday and got beat several times but there were several runs where the play was blocked well and Zeke's lack of footspeed left yards on the table.

Correct.

You can never make a general statement about a player based on one game. But we have seen Zeke for 2 years running now struggle to break the 4.0 per carry barrier. He is clearly not the same rb he was his first 3 seasons and thats got nothing to do with the game last night. He's lost a step, struggles to get to the outside, and can't seem to make anyone miss.

That was your claim not what the thread was about
