Happy for Tulane and the American
Not some huge upset as Tulane was 16th and USC was 10th, but still a big "name" win

Tulane was tough this year and the league held up okay in their bowls.

Green Wave had 12 wins and should finish in the top 12 or so.
Had a nice win over Kansas St earlier this year as well.

Edit to post #217: I really hope you aren't saying that TCU isn't a quality team this year
I would like to see them spike Georgia just so as the SEC does not get another NC.
My whole point is that the 4 teams in the playoffs this year were truly the four teams that deserved to be there.
I really did not see any others that I would have chosen.

And my main point is that you will NEVER SEE more than maybe six teams or so that are real contenders. Going to 12 is absolute GARBAGE.

Have to admit, terra, I'm with him on this.
Surprised you seem so emotional about a simple opinion.
We all have our takes on it, so no big deal. But I always have thought there should be at least 8

This year was fine, but some years there's not much difference between 2-8 teams.

I do think if they expand the playoffs they need to drop a game from the regular season, but that's just me.

Not really a topic I wish to argue about, as folks are dug in with their opinions
What grinds my grits is how casual those like him take this; they REALLY do not care about the game; or anything. They just want to be entertained. Nothing else.
You know, the same kind of people that would quite happily watch the Christians vs the Lions again

You really are full of yourself. YOU have NO idea what I am thinking and what I want to see. This is ludicrous. Because I want a few more teams in the college football playoffs to you means that I want to see people get eaten by lions? I can't believe that I am having to argue that point not being true. Ever heard of a straw man argument?
Please go get mental help.

Now back to the topic at hand.
According to you, the Cowboys don't deserve to be in the playoffs this year. The best teams in the NFC have been the Eagles and the 49ers. Is that what YOU really want to see? Or do YOU just want to be entertained and hope that the Cowboys have a chance to make something happen in the playoffs?

Loved the Semis and especially the showings by the underdog.

Details again why we want more teams competing for a title come January, not less.
Harbaugh should be fired. No idea why Mich kept going cover 0 versus a team with TCU's speed. Criminally bad coaching.
tOSU wins that game with Harrison Jr imo but can't have that much offense tied to 1 WR.

Saw about 3 CBs I'd be interested in for the Cowboys.

As an OSU fan I agree, but they had too many injuries on the offensive side to overcome. Top 3 RB's were out, lost the starting TE during the game, and Jaxson Smith-Njigba missed essentially the entire season. As soon as they waived off the hit on Harrison as targeting I knew we were going to lose. It sucks, but injuries are part of the game.

You dodged the question.

Should other sports narrow their playoffs down to only 4 teams……according to your reasoning?

And according to your reasoning, the #10 team could never beat the #3 team. Except that similar scenarios happens every year during the season.

And according to your reasoning, the #12 team could never beat the #1 team. Although similar scenarios happen occasionally.

Should the NFL cut down to 4 playoff teams? Only 2 per conference? Because by your logic, the #6 wildcard is not deserving to play in the playoffs or make it to the Superbowl…..although it is does happen, and occasionally the #6 (or x2 conferences = #12) team actually wins the superbowl!
At this point you are arguing with dinosaurs so it doesn't matter.
The CFP will expand and these same people crying over the expansion will be loudly cheering those games when their teams are involved.

Clemson and Bama fans have been strongly opposed to expansion but would have loved it this year.

The only sport that ever tried this archaic reduced playoff was MLB, they expanded and have been far better for it.

Dinosaurs lasted for hundreds of millions of years
Really think humans will be around even a fraction of that?
So being called a Dinosaur is no insult to me.
My kind will be around long after you are forgotten
fads and all flash and no substance

Moron alert.
can you post any dumber?
I thought not but you exceed yourself
And one is judged here by their posts and yours certainly indicate that you are all about being entertained and nothing else. So why is a Christian vs Lions comment out of line to you?

Okay. I get it. You can't stay on topic.

But I will ask again. Are you okay if the Cowboys don't make the playoffs if they aren't one of the top two seeds in the NFC? Answer the question....

My Bowl Game thread has really fallen apart

Sorry DFWJC. I apologize for confronting a mentally ill person and derailing your thread. I wasn't aware of his condition at the time, but now I am fully aware!

I'm sure someone will do a Championship Game thread this coming weekend, but I have 2 questions regarding

#1 Georgia vs #3 TCU

  1. who do you think will win?
  2. who do you want to win?

I hope that TCU will win, but I wouldn't bet on them.

The smart money is on Georgia. But an upset would be entertaining! It would especially be fun to see all the meltdowns by folks who don't think teams out of the top 2 should have a chance to play for the championship.

I would be tempted to take TCU and the 13.5 points. But no way I'd take them to win outright.

Like you though, I hope they do!

Here's some pretty amazing trivia about Georgia

They lost a whopping 15 starters to the NFL Draft...a modern-day record. 5 went in Round 1
They lost 9 more players to the transfer portal
yet.....
They took zero players from the transfer portal....so did not rob other teams

:omg:

I'd guess Georgia by 3 so am taking TCU +13.
I am ambivalent on winner provided I get the spread covered.

I'd be happy for New Big 12 to have a Natty but not sure I'd be happy enough to offset it going to the team in Fort Worth.

I had a feeling TCU could hang against Michigan. But Georgia is a completely different story...they are stronger in the trenches compared to Michigan. TCU was able to run the ball against Michigan and also stop the run. Very hard to have success doing both against Georgia.
