guessing Jim will flee Michigan for the NFL with sanctions or punishment on the line just like Pete Carroll did…and leave the program in purgatory while cashing huge NFL checks.
That is of course assuming there is anything there. Or that some OSU money bags did not bribe the NCAA Gestapo to come knocking.
Remember UNC a few years ago; all that happened there and then suddenly there were no real consequences. The NCAA got bought off.

the whole system is corrupted beyond repair….has been for a long time…..and now there are bidding wars for players some who are making more than any university professors…
How is it still classified as “amateur”?

The system was exploitive and unfair. It had to change. Imagine you are an 18 year old football player at Michigan. That didn't happen by chance. You worked your tail off to get good enough to warrant the football scholarship. You are so good that Nike wants to pay you to wear their apparel and shoes. BUT, some pencil pusher in admin forbids you to accept b/c it violates NCAA rules. Meanwhile the Michigan athletic department has your name and image all over selling your jerseys and promoting its own brand with your name raking in hundreds of millions a year. Not only that, but even in the offseason you can't accept any money for doing any work related to football. You don't even own your own autograph.

Meanwhile, the kids on academic scholarship can do whatever they want.

Oh I totally agree! I’m just saying bidding wars for players is not the solution. If that then they aren’t amateur athletes any longer and why are athletics tied to academics and universities at all? The same schools taking tax dollars?

Well, they are student athletes and they do represent the university ...........as well their own brand. I don't see anything morally wrong with it. I think individual players should have a right to cash in on their own popularity via social media , corporate sponsorships , and the ability to use their off time to earn money in their chosen sport. . It's a fine line, but I think that is different than boosters going out and flat out paying cash to kids just come to their alma matter. I don't think that is in the spirit of NIL. Amateurism is dead. It died when the Olympics scrapped it. the NCAA was the last vestige of it.

School athletic departments have their own budgets and most big schools aren't getting money from the schools general fund via tax payer dollars anyway. At UGA, the athletic department is economically self sufficient thanks to football ticket sales, TV rights, and alumni donations.

There was a time when people blamed 49ers ownership for how things went down when Harbaugh was there. It's pretty clear this dude is a problem wherever he chooses to go.

For some reason he is beloved in some places. The Colts put him in their freaking Ring of Honor.
