Are there any first round prospects that anyone would like to see as our QB in the next couple of drafts?

I truly believe we need to draft a first round QB with actual expectations. No more of this found fools gold QBs

Not where we are picking. It will be a couple years before we can really think of that. The hit rate on QB's in our range isnt great. You are very lucky if you get a Derek Carr

I’m not necessarily thinking next year. I’m thinking within the last two years of daks contract. So are there any prospects that we should be excited about in the next 2 to 3 years

You may have to look longer down the line. We will have to get to a 3 win level before we can really think about any future QB's

2024 Caleb Williams and Drake Maye would probably both go #1 this year if they could declare but again I doubt we have a shot at them. 2025 no idea, just too far out to evaluate prospects. 2026, maybe Arch Manning lol.

Stroud and Young are pretty much locked in as Top-5 picks but after that...who knows. Maybe teams will be less willing to pull the trigger on some of the next QBs in the 1st round when they can wait a year for a stronger/deeper class. And if not, I think our 2023 season has a strong chance of being wheels off and we could get a Top-15 pick.

You can find a QB anywhere in the draft than can eventually be the guy. But if you try to draft a specific type of QB then there are very few of them.

If you are willing to draft a football player at QB and willing to think outside the box a little you can get a legit QB in rounds 2-3.

Do we have the coaching to develop a Hurts type, a Purdy ,

C.Rush lacks the arm....will Grier?.....
Does the team have a hierarchy that can’t be disturbed?

He's small (same size as Purdy) but Jaren Hall was about the most exciting QB I watched this year. Was also impressed with Adrian Martinez throughout the year.

he's under contract through 2024. 2025 and 2026 are voided years so they can spread out his signing bonus

Anthony Richardson if he slides within trade up range. He's raw and needs developing but he should be ready in twO years when Daks contract is up.
Yup. The guy has to be mobile whoever it is. Unless they have good processing skills

2024 is the year! Depending on how bad we are and how high of pick we can get - obviously I don't think we will be bad enough to get in on the Caleb Williams/Drake Maye sweepstakes. But there could be some good prospects still available depending on how they perform in 2023:

Riley Leonard (Duke)
Shedeur Sanders (Colorado)
Jayden Daniels (LSU)
Spencer Rattler (South Carolina)
Bo Nix (Oregon)
Will Howard (Kansas State)

Dak will play out his contract next year but I’m perfectly fine drafting a QB to develop…even as early as round 1 if someone like Richardson fell.

Ideally we plug holes in FA and free ourselves up in the draft but it won’t happen.

We might not be bad next year. Might win another 12 games. Look to see if Dak gets restructured before the start of 2023. If he does, that means he's getting an extension after 2023.

Kinda meh on him. He’s old and has a mediocre arm. Think he was kind of a systems dude.
Hooker has great arm strength. The Tennessee QB can generate solid amounts of velocity with relative ease on a crisp, slingshot release. He brings great velocity generation in the short and intermediate ranges, and maintains a tight spiral.

To that end, he doesn’t appear strained when generating velocity in those ranges. He has the arm strength to fit the ball into tight pockets outside the numbers

Going a step further, Hooker’s arm is both strong and noticeably elastic. He’s shown he can mix pace and touch on his throws to a degree. He’s not a purely linear thrower and can drop passes into buckets after launching with good velocity.
with pace.
