So we won 12 games while overcoming our QB and a bunch of incompetent coaches? Dude, 52 guys should feel awesome they were able to carry that load to the final 8.

It makes sense. Jerry doesn’t think coaching is important. Maybe he’ll try contract buyouts with McCarthy and Moore to save even more money and try playing w no coaches at all
Coaches are not part of the league CBA between teams and players.
Their salaries have no effect on/ have nothing to do with the salary cap.

It’s tough to resign those guys if you’re convinced your oc and dc are leaving. They certainly can be brought back if there is no change or the new coordinators want them. Do you want new coordinators to have the ability to hire their own staffs?

Umm...Rob Davis is Mike McCarthy's right hand man. His hand picked assistant head coach who was with him for a decade in Green Bay.

This must be McCarthy's moment where he fires his brother like Jason did to John Garrett.

Who said anything about the salary cap? Nobody

What if the Cowboys are just shedding coaching salary because they know they need every dollar for all the free agents they're going to sign?
I’m not sure one has anything to do with the other. Coaching salaries have nothing to do with the cap , they don’t like the free-agent market they rather do it through the draft. Maybe they should learn something from the Eagles

Does having the assistant head coach position vacant allow the Cowboys to poach another team's coordinator since also making him the assistant HC is a promotion?

I think that's how it used to work. Not sure now.

I believe it does. Its seems pretty odd the head coach fired his closest confidant in Davis though. Unless he is bringing in McCadoo and Campen when they get fired in Carolina after the new hire there. I bet McCadoo would take an assistant head coach/offensive coordinator job.

Maybe Moore is getting the Carolina job and Jerry is helping him get a staff together? ;)

Risen never mentioned the salary cap. It’s a dig about saving money. Not about cap space.
A dick about saving money so they can spend it on free agents. Again it’s too early I missed it.
