Love Dak or hate him; love McCarthy or hate him…..anyone who hates this move is just crazy, IMO.
You‘ve ragged on Kellen Moore ever since he took over. Gives up on the run; offense too predictable; calls stupid plays when we need 1 yard; too many trick plays; not modern—not enough picks and bunches; Doesn’t scheme guys open. No coaching experience before this.

Now some of you hate Dak so much that you suddenly express love for Moore and call Dak coach killer. Hypocrites!

This is perfect timing for everyone.

Dallas - give the head coach total control the last two years of his contract….sink or swim his way! If another OC and his staff can’t get better out of Dak when they are responsible not only for calling plays, but coaching the system and plays, then find out now. Maybe this is what will help get rid of Dak if he falls on his face and performs like this year in a new system/new coaching/play caller. Two years and the dye is cast for Mike and Dak. Celebrate! You’ll either be happy the team moves on or happy with how the team plays.

Kellen Moore - I’ll bet he wanted this. If he hopes to be a head coach one day, it wasn’t going to happen unless Jerry gave it to him. After 3 years of great offensive production and HC interviews, even Frank Reich got the crappy Carolina job over him. He needs seasoning. He needs to prove he can make the most of his personnel somewhere else. Most importantly, he needs to prove he can get his offense to perform in the playoffs against top defenses. There are too many questions about him, about Dallas, and about his system. He knows he needs experience somewhere else in the NFL.

Good Luck Kellen, and I’m thrilled to see how our offense changes, whether drastically or subtly with details.
Nice post, agree with all of this.

Meh. It's hard to really care either way since Jerry & Son will still be running the show. It's a new twist, I guess.

How can they be worse? Right now, they have the same offensive players. A fresh perspective on offensive strategy is needed.
Well for 1, we were one of the top offenses with Kellen

2. Averaging as many points as we did will not be easy. We were #1 in points in 2021 and 4th in 2022.

3. Dak in a wco might be comedy. There is a reason he wanted to stay with Kellens offense once McCarthy came on board

Hopefully it's McCarthy's offense - but he hires his own X's and O's offensive caller .

- Eric Beinenmy with Andy Reid
- Pete McMichael with ex_HC Sean Payton

- who would be new OC - Brian Schottenhemeir ?
and keep in mind it would not be Schottenhemeir's offense - as was Kellen's but now it's McCarthy's...he'd call McCarthy's GB like offense
accordingly.
Unless McCarthy really wants him to have the position, wouldn’t it be kind of a waste to give Schottenheimer the position? He’s already in the organization and we don’t appear to be in danger of losing him (has he gotten any interview requests?). You could just keep him and maybe give him a promotion to “passing game coordinator” or something like that if anything.
I see Mike bringing in a guy familiar with his system to help him install the offense. Tom Clements is the name I brought up earlier. He was with Mike the whole time in GB and was OC and Assistant Head Coach for 5 years. Currently the Packers QB coach so wouldn’t be an issue to hire him with a promotion.

So this is what I predicted. I predicted that Jerry would do something extreme, and draft well, maybe even a small trade, and fans will be ready for Oxnard. And about this time next year, "hopefully not" we'll be here talking about who sucked this year and what new TE we'll draft.
Gotta give us minions some hope!
Lol
Until he fires himself, doesn't matter.

@KellenMoore_11

Here’s the complaints of Moore:

- Predictable plays
- Lack of presnap motion
- Doesn’t have good OL.

I’m currently seeing the exact same things with one of the hottest offenses the last two years: the BENGALS

Guess what is the difference? Players! Burrow just threw into tight double coverage but Higgins has the ability to bail him out.

Great play calls won’t fix a thing if Dak doesn’t make throws and process faster.

Moore was kept around so Jerry could develop the next Peyton. As with garret though just because someone is smart doesn’t make them a good coordinator.

The 2nd and 2 before halftime of the 49er game did it for me. Awful call to empty the backfield in that situation. Even though dak made a terrible read he shouldn’t have even been in that position

In what world does one think Jerry has failed for basically two decades and caused much of our issues but then turn around and say, hey, I think we can win it all next year? Did we change GMs and I not get the memo?

LOL.
Then why are you here if it’s all over? Just to whine like a little girl? Boom!

This may or may not change anything but the most important thing to me was to get KM out of Dallas. It kept me up at night thinking he would be another head coach in training soon :muttley:

This is a good thing, maybe new offensive ideas and scheme(better be different) will be able to salvage Dak. If it fails MM and Dak can’t hide from it anymore. Who knows, maybe Payton sits out this season and he becomes the next HC like many want.

One thing was clear, our QB and OC wasn’t going to run the playoff gauntlet together.
