Happy birthday, Roger Staubach

Roger Staubach was on the cover of one of my favorite games to play ever. I knew the game would be awesome because he was on it and my hero would never steer me wrong.

Roger the Dodger . . . a winner in any Cowboys fan's book! He set the example for any and all of the QBs that followed him.

Happy Birthday, Roger Staubach -- the best QB the Cowboys have ever had. May your days on this planet be filled with happiness.

Roger made me a fan in 1973 when I was just 3. Even then something felt special about him and the team. What a shame we haven't won another SB recently to honor him again and what this franchise stands for.

People ask why don't some of us root for another team. It's not that easy. Roger and other players from his era are the reason many of us became Cowboy fans. We don't just walk away.
I’m a Cowboy fan because they are my local team. I was just just lucky they became a championship caliber franchise .
Unfortunately we aren’t anymore.

Even though he hasnt played in decades, he is the reason some of us are still fans. Watched SB6 and 12 on NFLN last night. Good times. (really)
Totally agree...if it wasn't for him, alot of us would have given up on this team, but for most of us,it's to late...lol
Long live #12,the greatest QB ever.

Just learned Craig Morton's birthday is also today. He's a year younger than Roger.

I wasn't nearly as fond of him. :muttley:
Craig Morton was a very good QB - who had an unfortunate draw… he had to compete against one of the greatest competitors to ever don cleats. Whatever Staubach put his mind and energy to - he would put his shoulder into that wheel, and that wheel was gonna roll… fast. In life, Roger has won at every challenge he has ever taken on. And won BIG! I idolized him in my youth. I appreciate him even more as an older man. I always thought he would have made a fine President with character beyond reproach - even opponent fans knew Roger was ‘clean’ … though they surely resented him none-the-less. Alas, politics weren’t in the cards for Staubach - he was more interested in making money than taking money.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY NUMBER 12 - still #1 in our hearts.

Brother that is a true statement when I get absolutely fed up with Jerry and this total circus I think back to Roger staubach and all the good times he gave me in my youth.
Then I buckle my chin strap and stay the course.
