If they don't tag Pollard who should they use the tag on and why? Does it make sense to use it on Pollard or someone else?

Not on Pollard nor on Schultz.
Actually there is not one player to use it on. Nothing keeping them from having to use it at all.

Donovan Wilson should get it before those 2, and I even question that.

So do not use it. Not needed.

I question that we will be lucky to get any comp picks from any of the FA's. Depending what FA's we sign in return.

It worked out pretty good on Schultz this past season.

I'm not sure there is even another candidate. You wont tag LVE at $20MM, I doubt Wilson gets close to $14MM in a new deal. I could see Schultz being considered, but TE feels like a position the Cowboys are in decent shape without him too.

Sounds like if they do it, it would have to be Pollard, Schultz, or Wilson. Maybe Pollard does make the most sense.

Wilson absolutely is not the answer.

There is no answer other than pollard. Is pollard or you don’t use it at all

Of course he does. He’s the most explosive player on a team w no weapons other than lamb

Not that it necessarily means anything but PFF is projecting a Wilson contract to be in the 2 year/$5.5MM per year range. I think he probably gets more than that, but the tag for a Safety is north of $14MM.
then scratch my idea.

its pollard or no one

Schultz is gone the rest of the tags dont work finacially ..

you do NOT have to use the tag.

no it didn't. they paid nearly 12 million dollars for 38 ypg and 5 tds.
had to be signed they didnt have an idea how the other 2 would do if he was let go..that what the tag is for a oneYR rental to see if you keep them or find a replacement. its a gamble.

Bingo. I like Schultz, but had he not gotten 3 TDs in the postseason I'm not sure we are even having a discussion about him. Not the production I would pay top dollar for. Let someone else overpay, get the comp pick, and give Hendershot/Ferguson a shot. Smarter ways to spend that money.
