Who should they use the franchise tag on?

Yes, it did. They won 13 games and he certainly helped them.
that's like saying everything that happened this past season worked out since they won 13 games. they could have used the money elsewhere, and this offseason i hope they do.

Bingo. I like Schultz, but had he not gotten 3 TDs in the postseason I'm not sure we are even having a discussion about him. Not the production I would pay top dollar for. Let someone else overpay, get the comp pick, and give Hendershot/Ferguson a shot. Smarter ways to spend that money.
Their overall return on investment for the offense was atrocious this past year.

So many huge disappointments for what they paid.

Not on Pollard nor on Schultz.
Actually there is not one player to use it on. Nothing keeping them from having to use it at all.

Donovan Wilson should get it before those 2, and I even question that.

So do not use it. Not needed.

I question that we will be lucky to get any comp picks from any of the FA's. Depending what FA's we sign in return.
No chance in hell am I ever paying Donovan Wilson $14.5 million for one season. Only people I’d even consider at that are Bates and Poyer.

They could go sign several different starters with better resumes than Wilson. I know Wilson is an import cog to this defense.

Vonn Bell (6 per), Rapp (9 per), Amos (7 per) are other options you could ultimately get for two years at that cost.

And meanwhile, Travis Kelce doubled the production at a cap hit of about $8 million.

Great teams get great deals (Eagles also come to mind). He even has reasonable cap hits of 14, 15 and 19 coming up. Excellent deal

Oh yeah. Philadelphia stole Hassan Reddick this past year, along with Bradberry and the Gardner-Johnson trade.

Even the late-season adds of Suh and Linval Joseph. Brilliant.

Agreed. This is exactly the reason this team bottoms out in the playoffs. They are solid all around, but always miss the extra 2-3 guys to boost them over the top.

The salary on a tag is always going to be too high because the team is reaping the benefit of committing to that player for only one more year. It’s a give take per CBA.

Schultz wasn’t worth 12m but now we aren’t stuck with him long term as Ferguson emerges.

We will be saying the same about Pollard and a draftee next year.

Their method is solid way of doing business in theory. It really is. Problem is, it’s more suited to pre cap/free agency times.

One example being Wilson, who has finally become a nice player, just in time to price himself out of here.

Unless you have several consecutive 2005 type drafts, there’s a certain window now, and being more concerned about the future while other teams are going all in will likely leave you short, at best.

Jerry was busy booking monster truck events for the stayjum when those deals happened.

Or maybe polishing his stopwatch for the Senior Bowl.

One or the other. Either way that’s our team. I’m getting just a bit tired of it.

They could have used the money on Randy Gregory or Von Miller and had a bad season.

They still won 13 games. I doubt they do better than that no matter what they did. Imagine if they used it on Randy Gregory or Von Miller.

I wouldn't use the franchise tag on any of our free agents. I would give Pollard the transition tag which sets his salary at $8.4 million. If he gets an offer we have the option to match. If we don't like the offer then let him walk and draft another RB to replace him.

Dalton Schultz can move on. I like our new TEs from last year and we can always snag another one in a deep TE draft class.

Zeke - Bye Bye - Thanks for all you have done but you have not been the same since you held out and trained in Cabo. I can get another RB in the draft or probably a bargain in free agency. Deep draft for RB and plenty going into free agency.

D. Wilson - I would try to sign him to a reasonable contract but if the numbers get too high then I just let him walk.

LVE - No way I give him a ton of money. His play last year probably warrants a big pay day but i just don't trust that neck. I would try to sign him to a reasonable contract but I wouldn't break the bank.

Jourdan Lewis - Cut him if he doesn't take a big pay cut. I am not paying that guy $4.5 million this year. Saves almost $5 million by cutting him.

Neville Gallimore and Kelvin Joseph - Bye - See you later - $3.4 million saved on CAP

Connor McGovern - I would try to resign him. OLine is hard to find because teams don't usually let them walk. However, I am not breaking the bank.
