I have always said, sometimes you have to pay attention to not what's being said but what's not being said.

Dak Prescott on Kellen Moore departure: I’m upset, but I’m happy for him

Posted by Josh Alper on February 10, 2023, 9:10 AM EST

The Cowboys made a major offensive change after they were eliminated from the playoffs when they parted ways with offensive coordinator Kellen Moore and set head coach Mike McCarthy up to call the team’s plays during the 2023 season.

Many players will be impacted by that change and quarterback Dak Prescott will be at the very top of that list. Prescott briefly weighed in on Moore’s departure while making appearances at the Super Bowl in Arizona on Thursday.

“I’m upset, but I’m happy for him,” Prescott said, via Calvin Watkins of the Dallas Morning News.

Prescott’s happy for Moore because he is now the offensive coordinator of the Chargers and he’ll have to get over his other feelings ahead of next season in order for the team to put forth their best bid to advance past the divisional round for the first time since Prescott came to Dallas.

meh, Dak is usually good at saying the typical "right" thing even if it's not what he probably feels. Not saying he isn't upset but i don't think he'd say anything that would make it appear he didn't like Moore and was glad he was gone. There's plenty of people that have left my orgs that I was overjoyed to be rid of, but i'd still say something like "man, it's a shame to see you go" in front of the teams lol

Watch the Chargers go deep in the playoffs or better yet win a SB. The board implosion would be horrific.
I just love how people draw these hard conclusions. Although...pretty much anything these days implodes the board. Again..usually from taking hardline stances and nostradamus-like assements.

I think a lot of people, like a lot of issues, are in the middle, and not as winged as they are made out to be. I have laid blame on KM, Dak, TE's, Zeke, and even MM for his "I don;t do the offense" type calls.

I don;t hate anyone about it. It's as most things are, more compliocated that just one thing. But...I don;t wish KM...or us...any ill-will. I don;t have any "See how right I was?" intent.
A seemingly amicable departure that works out for everyone, I'm hoping.

No big news here. These players develop a relationship with coaches over the years and Moore was also a fellow QB on the squad when Dak was a rookie. He has an 8 year relationship with Moore. I'm sure Dak feels some responsibility for Moore not being there. I would rather Dak take this approach than act like Moore was the total problem and throw him under the bus.

Steve, I’m not sure that he drew a definitive conclusion, but when you look at the UPGRADE in the skill set of a quarterback like Herbert , conventional wisdom tells you that the success rate of the Chargers goes up exponentially….however the rest of the Chargers team has to be considered in terms of a playoff run

Well maybe this requires us to trade Dak to the Chargers for Herbert ;)
