Some slightly under the radar prospects I like

Jonathan Mingo. Big, strong, smooth and explosive WR. Reminds me a bit of AJ Brown with his build and play style.

Anxious to see how he works out.
He looked really tough in the 1 on 1's. Solid speed, hands, incredibly strong, and surprisingly limber for a big guy.

Keion White DE, Georgia Tech

  • His motor is excellent, and he’s quick to locate the ball and make plays against the run.
  • Made Bruce Feldman's Freak's List - ranked #20. He wrote "White was a devastating player for Old Dominion in 2019, making 19 TFLs. He was 265 then. He transferred to Tech, but then suffered an ankle injury that sidelined him. He’s now 6-4, 290, and primed to be a problem for ACC teams. White has hit 21 mph despite being almost 300 pounds. He also has vertical-jumped 32 inches and done 38 reps of 225 on the bench press."
  • White has decent enough flexibility to bend the edge, and White shows a good closing burst.

Now, he does have some weaknesses but he does flash some talent that may be intriguing to teams. I've seen multiple sites call him a day 2 player.
He's a bit raw and will be on the older side(24) for a draftee. It's been hard to watch GT under Collins but White was someone I saw make some plays last year.

Love White. I’ve been touting him for possible pick at 26 if the board is wiped clean. I think he belongs in the top 30 prospect discussion for sure. But yeah kinda impossible to know his draft stock tho…some places have him in the 3rd round and then you have Daniel Jeremiah who ranked him as the #8 overall prospect in his initial top 50 rankings. Should be interesting, but I think White Sr opened a lot of eyes at the senior bowl.

He gives me AJ / Deebo vibes.

If he runs a 4.5 at at 225 that’s special IMO. Dez like explosion when he was younger.

No chance he’s a mid rounder…I think DJ had him top 20. He’s a beast.

He’s a crazy athlete for his size.

I would love to have Roschon Johnson.

Dude has some vision.
Yeah, He's a nice back...At 6' 2" he runs tall and leaves defenders a bigger target, but splitting time with Robinson has left him with a lot of tread left on the tires. He reminds me of Robert Smith (Vikings).

Jayden Reed WR Mich St- Slightly undersized at 5’11 195, but has big time speed and agility. Deep threat that can adjust well to the ball in the air and make tough catches. Had a great 2021 with 1026 yards and 10 TD’s averaging 17.4 yards per catch. Production dipped to 636 yards and 5 TD’s likely hurting his draft stock- although Mich St’s offense was so bad I’m not sure it was really his fault. Their QB threw for only 2400 yards so Reed accounted for 25% of their yards and the QB had a 103 rating when targeting him. Also has a career average of 15 yards per punt return with 3 TD’s

I like McGuire, I think he could be a really nice day 2 pick up.

Sydney Brown FS Illinois- 5’10 205 FS with 4.4 track speed. Great instincts and ball skills often reading the QB and making a play on the ball in the air. 5 year starter with experience playing a variety of spots on D from single high to slot CB, also played special teams. Would like him to be slightly bigger and stronger, but at worst he looks like a very good sun package S with coverage skills.

100%

Really like this kid.

I don’t know if Daiylon Henley finds longterm success at the next level. His body is maxed-out and he’s a tweener LB/S, but he’s a bit stiff athletically.

Keion White is going to be legit, imo.

I really like Brown a lot too. He is very smooth and reactive, with the ability to transition almost like a corner. He’s smart, takes good angles and has the functional athleticism to play wherever you want him to. He’s outstanding.

Really, the only thing that he doesn’t have is length.

I don’t think Brown is going to make it to Dallas’ second round pick, so it seems like a little bit of a long shot shot that he would get drafted here… but I would certainly love to have him in Dallas.

As an aside: That Illinois defensive backs coach might be someone to look into hiring because he is putting out some really good players. Kerby Joseph last year in the third round, with Witherspoon and Brown this year.

Joseph had like 3 or 4 INT’s and played very well as a rookie. ‘Spoon is one of my favorite players in this whole draft, and Brown is very good.

Whoever he is… he is doing something right.

Just learned about Trey Palmer. Found another speed merchant if we miss out on Hyatt.

Dude was clocked at 21mph at the senior bowl and will likely run in the 4.3s.

Very underrated IMO.

Check out Dontay Demus. Could be a steal....

Zack Kuntz TE Old Dominion- 6’8 250, won the PA State 200m Hurdles as a HS senior, and is said to have a 35+” vert and runs a sub 4.6 40. Was a 4 star recruit that committed to Penn State but transferred after being used sparingly for 2 years. Had a good 1st year at Old Dominion (73 for 692 and 5 TD’s), but got hurt in 2022 and only played in 3.5 games. Goes into the draft without much production, but the size and speed is extremely intriguing and worth a flier depending on where he goes.
(mute highly recommended)

Mohamed Ibrahim RB Minnesota- A lot of RB’s getting discussion, but Ibrahim hasn’t been talked about much.
Pros: Has vision, patience, and power. Picks holes well and gets through them with a quick burst and low center of gravity making him hard to bring down on 1st contact. 53 rushing TD’s in 40 career games.
Cons: Lacks long speed to run away from defenders in the secondary. Appears to have good hands, but wasn’t used much in the passing game. Torn Achilles in 2021.

Shaka Heyward LB Duke
Pros: Good size and length at 6’3 235 and 34” arms combined with 4.53 speed. Tough downhill LB with good wrap up tackling ability. Flows to the ball sideline to sideline. Started all 4 years at Duke amassing 337 total tackles, 31.5 TFL, 11.5 sacks, and 4 INT’s. Team captain.
Cons: Play recognition needs some developing. Pass coverage is so so, but can drop back in zone pretty well.

Trying to post guys I haven’t seen talked about much. I think most of the DT’s have been talked about because of the fact that it’s always a need. Jalen Carter is going top 5, Bryan Breese is likely top 30…and then you’ve got Siaki Ika, Mazi Smith, Gervon Dexter, Keeanu Benton, Zacch Pickens, and Calijah Kancey as the consensus next 6 that could go anywhere from early 2nd-early 4th depending where you look.

Karl Brooks and Dante Stills both got some talk in the Senior Bowl thread. Intriguing skill set as pass rushers, but definitely flawed.

I still have to check out Jaquelin Roy from LSU, he’s on my radar soon.

Not going to pretend to have watched everyone so there could definitely be some gems out there, but as far as true DT’s I’m not sure there’s a ton of options in this draft if you’re looking for someone to contribute right away. We might have to pull the trigger in the 2nd or miss out.
My worry is that they get so fixated on pass rush they fail to see the need to strengthen the middle of the line.
They might pass up a very good run stuffer because of obsesion with pass rush
and thus we go into yet another season weak up the middle
