Let me tell you what it's like living in the suburb right outside of Philly as a Cowboys fan

Let me start this post by saying Dallas wins are way sweeter than Eagles losses. You may be saying to yourself, yeah, no crap. Well, when you live where I live, they enjoy our (my) pain more than their own success. Ask anyone else on this forum who lives in, or right outside the city. I actually attended HS in Northeast Philly.

I'm 34 so I don't claim the 90s. I would be a clown if I did, or at least I think so. With that said, since middle school I've been tormented like you cannot believe. It reached a climax this week when a 6 year old student of mine walked up to me and said DALLAS SUCKS right in front of the class. Needless to say, I disciplined him and contacted home about his scumbagish behavior (I didn't use that word). It had nothing to do with him being an Eagles fan or me a Cowboys fan, it had everything to do with people where I'm from having zero respect for their fellow man. Oddly enough I don't even tell them I'm a Cowboys fan but somehow they found out.

Every single day the last 4 weeks was Fly Eagles Fly on the announcements, wear eagles this, have an assembly for the eagles that. Buses flooding with students chanting E A G L E S EAGLES and Dallas Sucks chants. People in Rally House a local sports store yesterday talking about how they can't wait to be back at the parade (I was only there for my wife who I respect the hell out of as an Eagles fan). You wouldn't believe how certain people around here were before tonight.

This one is for me. I'm self gloating. This one is for anyone like me who has spent their whole life, for lack of a better term, bullied over football their whole life. And this one is for people who have no clue what I'm talking about because they live elsewhere, but still root for the star on the helmet. As I watch the riots on the news, all I can say to myself is that it reads a lot like the T-shirts anyone around here has seen all month, "It's a Philly Thing."

Cheers

Now me personally....I dont like Philly fans...they take things TOO far they are disgusting their fight song is annoying (just as annoying as that stupid hail to the Commanders song) and theyre just like commanders fans just obsessed over Dallas

cant stand em...and them spelling out eagles annoying me too...like congrats you can spell at a 2nd grade level, shut up,.,they tried that crap at the bar tonight and got some not so nice words thrown at them by chiefs fans

You are who you are. You cannot help reverting to your own truth. They see nothing wrong with it because it is encouraged. Enjoy their pain. They were rioting win or lose. It's what they are. What do you expect from a community that's own self worth is based on a fictional character? They don't live in a healthy environment.

I am here with you. I live in the area, and it is a sickness they revel in a Cowboys loss over an Eagles win, even weeks later with the smack talk. I thought all year the Eagles would win SB and glad the did not.

Yes same! And my hatred is close to zilch for their actual players and 95% towards their fans

Me too. My whole life. They been hating dallas since I was a young kid in the 70's here. They will never ever give the Cowboys any credit even when we were winning Superbowls in the 90's, They were saying Dallas Sucks Lol. As you know, it was glorious to walk around here after this Superbowl. I tell Eagle fans here that it is a one way rivalry. They are not even our most hated rival. That really makes them mad. LOL. They have been better then us since our last superbowl, something that if we were, they would never admit. I hate them more then any fan base on earth because they are.

I don't remember it being this bad in 2017 when they won. They were insufferable here this time around. Even calling into the NY stations singing one dumb song or another. I never in my life wanted, no, needed a team to lose more than the Eagles in this SB. Super Bowls that don't include the Cowboys of course. The quality of life going forward for the rest of the year depended on it.

It's like trying to go to sleep and someone is blasting a radio, then it stops!

I know one guy (Eagle fan) that seemed to spend hours every day making Facebook memes—5 or 6 on how awesome Philly was, and another half dozen “comedic” ones explaining why Dallas sucks. Every time I logged on for a five minute scroll, there he was, with laugh emoji’s, poop piles, one finger salutes, “factual” digs, etc., etc.—this guy was OBSESSED. I wondered where he found the time, because he was married with kids, a full time job, active at a local fire hall, etc.

Very quiet the last several days….

I agree it was FAR worse this time around. Last time they had hoped, this time they knew they were going to win. I'm a teacher and every single day for almost a month was eagles day with attire, trivia over the announcements, small pep rally's. I wanted to throw up. Not to mention my friends were insufferable. I've lived here my whole life I've never once understood the need to be arrogant and destructive. It's truly a unique fanbase but for all the wrong reasons
