A trade back that results in having 3 picks in the 2nd round.
The Cowboys get
Zay Flowers wr Boston College
Schmitz oline Minnesota
Zach Charbonnet rb UCLA

I traded back to 37 to get this. Gave up 26 and 129.

I certainly would take it I don’t think you get Schmidt in the second round but he’s the anchor to your draft I like it a lot

Two of those will be gone by pick #37.

I think that they could be gone, but you never know and if they are you will get other good players that fell. Could get Gibbs, Scott, and another olinemen. Or maybe Schmitz is there at 37 and you get him Scott, and Bigsby.

When was the last time that the Cowboys pulled off a draft day trade like this? Their philosophy lately has been set their board, sit and wait, draft highest graded player on their board at a position of need.

Ehhh. Not quite. They often decide who they’re going to take before the draft and unless somebody unexpected falls (lamb) then they take the guy they circled all along

Lve
Tyler smith
Would have taken Chaisson

All guys they predetermined they’d take

I trade back all day every day in this draft..especially at 26.

But you could also trade back later..and it would still work well if you played it right.

But I don't think there's any chance Zay Flowers makes it out of the first.

Some team will likely grab him in the top 15.

Very much like this general approach. But 20 teams are going to be wanting to do the same thing in this draft. There's not much top-end talent in this class.

Love to trade back like this but we won't find any trade partners willing to assist.

You won't get 3 2nd rounders for our late round pick. You wouldn't even find anyone willing to give us two 2nd round picks in return, IMO.

I kept our 2nd rounder. I traded 26 and 129.

yep
Simulations are beyond unrealistic.... usually the actual trades (you get way more than normal) and almost always the players available.

I've always said that we should have a separate "Draft Simulation Zone" because they have a pipe dreams

It feels as if that goes beyond the first round as well, especially last year.

They’ve been getting away with it for the most part.

They traded back when they drafted Parsons.
