Different way to look at the draft. Who don't you want the Eagles to draft?

Obviously the Eagles are stacked defending NFC Champs and a quarter away from a SB victory. Coming back with a young team and all who is the one guy you don't want to see them draft in round 1? I know for me it's Bijan Robinson and it's not really close. So if he's there at 26 you could bet your arse I want us drafting him. Dude looks like Emmitt out there.

McShay based on his contacts believes Carter goes between 3 and 12 so he could end up in Philly.

I don’t really care that much what Philly does… but if I had a choice, I’d rather they not get Witherspoon. He is my favorite player in this draft and IMO, is a sure fire star player from day 1.

However, I think that Spoon goes to Detroit at 6. I don’t see any way that Dan Campbell lets him get past their pick. He is a player made for Campbell.

It makes me sick that he’s going to go so far before Dallas picks.

As for Bijan Robinson, I don’t think that Howie will take him…particularly not at 10. Howie cares about what the media and people say, so I just can’t see him taking a RB early when everyone says you shouldn’t take one in round 1.

If you ask me, Howie will take Nolan Smith at pick 10, if he keeps it. Think about it:

  • Smith is from a big SEC school, which is what Roseman has decided to do to stop his early round blown picks that he has had every year since about 2013. He takes SEC stars early (Smith from Alabama round 1 in 2021, Dickerson from Alabama round 2 in 2021, Davis from Georgia round 1 in 2022, Dean from Georgia round 3 in 2022). The only early round pick he really didn’t get from a big SEC school was Cam Jergins in last year’s 2nd round… and that is because he didn’t really even make that pick. He told Kelsey to find a replacement at Center for him, and he told Howie to take Jergins. I don’t really blame Howie though. His drafting had been so bad that he had to do something different (and spend a ton in free agency). Once he drafted Reagor over Justin Jefferson, he absolutely couldn’t keep doing the same things. He had to change. So he’s been letting Nick Saban and Kirby Smart (and Kelsey) tell him who is good.
  • Everyone praises Howie for “always drafting the trenches early”. He eats that up, do not doubt it. Nolan Smith plays edge, so he will fit the “trenches early” narrative.
  • Nolan Smith also lit up the combine. Howie loves those guys so much that he actually traded up in last year’s first round for a two down run stuffer that ran a fast 40. For a guy that never has and never will get to the QB on any kind of regular basis. Howie didn’t just use an early first round pick on Davis, which would be bad enough… He traded up two spots and gave up picks 15, 124, 162 and 166 to draft a guy that will come off of the field on money downs. Howie never would’ve succumbed to that lunacy if Davis wasn’t the talk of the NFL after he ran a fast 40. This time though, Nolan Smith is a good player and can effect the QB… so that won’t be nearly as bad as the Davis pick.

So yeah, I’m relatively sure that Roseman will find a way to get Nolan Smith, who fits all of Howie's criteria. It is the only way he can avoid this kind of drafting:

2014 Marcus smith - BUST
2015 Nelson Agholor - BUST
2016 Carson Wentz - well, y’all know.
2017 Derrick Barnett - BUST
2018 No Pick
2019 Andre Dillard - BUST
2020 Jalen Reagor - BUST

And really, the best of that bunch, Agholor, was a Chip Kelly pick, lol. It was during the one year where Roseman was ousted from power. Agholor being the best one let’s you know a little bit about just how bad Howie had been missing in the first round.

So yeah, Howie had to change. Thank you SEC.

Who cares what they do!? WTH is this? Jeez this thread is pathetic. The only thing you need to worry about is what the Cowboys do.

What's pathetic is you and your delusional love for Daky and the front office.

I knew that the answer would be Bijan regardless of who created this thread.

Ouch. So much for Howie is a master drafter...

If they’re smart they’ll grab a stud CB / DE to replace a FA they’re losing.

2 of my favorite prospects in the draft are Witherspoon and Smith so they’ll likely end up with one of them.

They will pick him before we even draft if they want to. At 10.

I absolutely do not want them drafting Bijan Robinson.
One reason is I am foaming at the mouth for him to be a Cowboy.
And as a die hard Longhorn fan I don't want him playing on the team I hate the most.

Witherspoon is hands down my favorite player in this draft… and Nolan Smith is also among my favorite players as well.

I don’t think Spoon makes it past Detroit at 6, but as I have said already, I think Smith is going to be an Eagle at 10 unless something weird happens.

A different and wrong way to look at it. This isn't Hollywood Squares. We're not taking Bijan Robinson to block.

CBs is partially scheme fit so you never know.

I think we have about 0% chance at either.

Calijah Kancey. All said and done he could end up being the best pass rusher in this draft as a 3T and interior pressure is extremely valuable.

Absolutely zero for Witherspoon.

The more I watched him play this season… the more that I knew that he’d rise too far for Dallas to get. I love the way that kids plays football.

Mentally, he has just about everything you want in a CB, and his instincts are near perfect. And he passionately loves football.

Ah well… these things happen when you have a good season. It still really bothers me that we have no shot at him.

I would prefer that Nolan Smith, Jalen Carter, nor Will Anderson end up in our division.

Everyone else they can have. They're bound to pick up a decent player at 10.
