S. Jones paid Dak $40M he's not that cheap.
I wouldn’t call the guy “cheap.”

They just have a certain philosophy (that hasn’t at all worked, but they sure act as if it has) and it involves over paying their own draftees and never pursuing other teams top players. They sign guys at the end of their careers for cheap.

They get up there and speak as if that’s a foolproof deal. It passed the level of purely ridiculous long ago.

Think Dallas needs to do alot of things before they can think bout trading for anybody. First they have to free up the money to trade for him. So they'd have to talk with daks people, with Martin's people, figure out what to do with Elliot, and work with tyron to lower his hit.

You say that but I’m about to watch two of our own draftees that clearly make our defense better walk out the door because we won’t pay them market value.

He's not going to flex low enough for Jerry. Jerry will at least make an honest offer.

I said in the other thread he has little leverage and people where like "oh no his main priority is fleecing a teams cap that's why Houston dropped him"

He's coming off the worst 2 years of his career, a suspension, and his 2 year 55 million dollar extension hasn't even taken effect

That's not really the formula for begging for record money. If anything he probably wants a 3rd year and some guaranteed since whoever trades for him it would be zero guaranteed.

Whatever team gets him is only on the hook 2 years 34 million with zero guaranteed so adding a 3rd year and making the first 2 guaranteed or mostly guaranteed is good for both parties.

There’s no doubt Hopkins is a very talented receiver. Probably has some good years left in the tank. But I’ve been a little concerned about him not being wanted by two teams despite his talent. Maybe it’s nothing, maybe it’s his price tag, but there appears to be some smoke somewhere with this guy.

I didn’t know how to interpret this…does he mean flexible on his remaining 2 years or he wants an extension? Saying he wont demand “top of the market” to me reads as he wants an extension with any trade

Edit ; after reading again it appears I guess he’s talking about his remaining 2 years on deal
