Aaron Rodgers receives permission to talk to the Jets

I hope the Jets can close this deal and then I hope that Rodgers still has lots left. If he can make them playoff bound he will absolutely own NY. Would be a nice way for him to end his career and the Jets could actually make some noise in the playoffs.

Have always thought he would be a raider, just seems fitting.
Hope to heck SF doesn’t jump into the fray on the Rodgers bid war.
Yeah I thought the raiders were favorites. He’s from Cali and seems the type McDaniels could do well with.

Maybe Aaron would rather play in NY. He probably already has a place there. And you don’t have to compete directly with the Chiefs (although the Bills are just as good).

Good points. Not sure the jets wouldn’t have a good chance to upset the bills with Rodgers as qb but wouldn’t say the same about the raiders vs chiefs.

It wouldn't be an NFL off-season without a bunch of drama about a Packer QB retiring / considering retirement / threatening retirement / attempted to be traded / etc. Being going on intermittently for 30 years now.

The last good QB the Jets had was Brett Favre for one year. If he would not have gotten hurt, they would have made the playoffs that year. In another 17 years Jordan Love will find his way there too. If he does, then the Packers did all right moving on from AR.

Nice…AFC East gonna be fun next season.

Raiders may go all in and make it a bidding war.
Bidding war? You should hear the sports radio here in NY. They're under the impression that Rodgers is taking a team friendly contract. And that the Jets would not have to give up a lot to get him.

My guess is in this case Aaron is in the driver’s seat as to where he goes. Even with Adams in LV, that team is a dumpster fire. Jets are a QB away from maybe winning that division over Buffalo
His options may be limited.
Remember, he makes 50 Million a year.
That a big cap hit for someone to absorb.

If he signs I try to re-sign Mike White, rather have him than Rush. I wonder if Garrett kept Rush over White because he was red head? Nah....

People say he's difficult. Maybe he is but I have never seen him be that way. I think the Packers botched the relationship and failed to make moves to win while he was in his prime. So, I would find it really funny if he had success elsewhere while they floundered.

He seems to take contracts seriously...willing to use media to apply as much pressure as possible on GBs Front Office to get what he wants. Contract or something else...he uses the media and threats to get what he wants.

I think its mostly anti-pay player crowd that hates him. They dont like players having power so they bash him as being difficult when hes actually being smart and doing what most employers would do to get their way.

He always seems to be applying pressure to others. I have no idea what the guy is really like, though.

I think he’s a bit selfish with the yearly decision to play or not. But I feel he’s earned it too. He slays the media constantly and they resent it. It reflects in how they portray him, and then I think fans who watch ESPN and fox and others just parrot what the media says. As you stated, no one really knows him. People just seem to comment on him using the same words you hear in the media.
