I agree with just about everything you write, but I really don’t want Beckham and his nonsense here….especially if it’s on some sort of incentive-based deal with stats.

The guy will he every bit of a distraction, and that’s only if he isn’t cooked, which he may very well be.

I’d much rather see them add a dynamic TE, beef up the depth on the OL, add a smallish WR3 that makes plays (mid round pick), and a pair of fresh legged RBs (one early, one late).
Bottom line is that we need more weapons, right now all we got is Lamb and Pollard, that isn't enough to beat the top teams in this league.

Offense did struggle back to back seasons down the stretch. To say we are fine with Noah Brown as our #2 receiver, is laughable. We cannot trust Gallup to return to his former self, either. Very easy for teams to take away Lamb if there aren't any other threats. Now factor in Shultz most likely is gone, our passing offense is average at best.
They have to count on Gallup. He was clearly a half step slower this past year, but how can you think Gallup cant be counted on to return to his former self, but OBJ definitely will?

Their plan is to play Tyron at LT and Tyler at LG, if Tyron goes down they would shift Tyler to Tackle and have Farnoik start at Guard which he did last yr when McGovern was hurt. Finding a future replacement for both Guards is a need, but not a top priority this offseason. If a good prospect fell to them, they certainly will take him, but I think it's going to be more depth this yr.
Why are you so concerned about what you think is "their plan". That line wasnt close to good enough last year. Tyron gets hurt and is fading. Needs to go. Team is better served with his money spent other places.

We need new, young blood quality on the line. Farniok can continue to be a backup thats fine. Smith's replacement is long overdue. Or Mcgoverns, take your pick.

Washington giving them absolutely nothing at all was a problem as well.
Yes, him getting hurt was an issue, but that was a lamb signing to begin with.

Picking up a veteran WR in season to be a 4th WR is no big deal.

Dak threw for 300 yards and 5 TD's against the bucs down the stretch. Two years ago the offense struggled down the stretch because the Oline played poorly. We had Cooper AND Lamb down the stretch that year. This boldens my point that its more about the line than the weapons.

Brown at #2? LOL Are you cherry picking a few games or something?

Plenty of weapons when healthy in the passing game with a great Oline and run game.

Lamb, Shultz, Pollard, Gallup. Not my fault Moore failed to use them properly and kept Pollard out of the passing game and half out of the run game. I would feature Pollard and Lamb in the passing game.

Now are you talking about playing the #1 defense in the NFL on the road with Pollard hurt? Then no, we didnt have enough weapons or a good enough Oline or run game with Pollard hurt.

Aww.........more crying from you?

I know CowboyNY and he isnt a thin skinned cry baby that you like to be. And he actually comments on other subjects other than Dak sucks and correcting grammar.

Still upset that I kicked your troll butt all over the board the last few days? :lmao::lmao2:
I will never understand how you are free to behave like you do while flagrantly violating rules with no repercussions but not surprised.

Brown was the team's #2 receiver as Gallup was a shell of his former self. Hilton was signed late and he played minimal snaps down the stretch. One big piece to our passing game is going to be gone in Shultz. Your kidding yourself if you think we are good enough in our passing game with just Lamb/Gallup/Tolbert and Ferguson. The team already has invested 3 #1 picks for their OL, yes, they need future starters at both Guard positions, but they already have their 5 starters. Certainly will continue to build the OL, but they don't need another premium pick to do so. They brought in coaches who are devising better ways to run the football and get the ball out quickly.

They aren't going to pay Tyron over 10 million to be on the bench, he is going to start. I do agree, they should move on, but that's not what they are going to do. They believe with Tyler/Steele, there is enough coverage if Tyron misses games. They aren't going to use a top pick if that player is not going to play. Now if Tyron was released, then you can make an arguement about drafting a high Guard, but that isn't the case.

We all have to keep in mind that the team has 4 big extensions on the horizon, 3 could be close to top of the market:

Diggs, Lamb, Steele, Parsons

They are all long-term pieces for this team and aren't going anywhere.

We are fully aware how Stephen Jones uses free agency, plugs all holes with bridge, low cost starters so they don't need to reach to fill a need in the draft. If they are going to spend big in fa, they have always done so with the WR position-major trades with Galloway, Roy Williams, Amari Cooper, signing TO, etc.

Offense

-I'm expecting either a big trade or big fa signing at the wide receiver position. Both Jerry/Stephen stated at the combine, they would like to add 1 more offensive weapon. OBJ is the favorite and would be the smallest cost as they don't have to give up draft picks to sign him, but Hopkins, Cooks are all in play. Believe Noah Brown has priced himself off the roster.

-Shultz will playing elsewhere. The Cowboys offensive coaches stayed back last weekend to work on their new scheme, except their TE Coach. This suggests they are looking to draft one this year and could be an higher pick than we have seen in years. TE Class is loaded this yr.

-McGovern will not be resigned, team reportedly loves Farnoik and he can play both G/C. Tyler Smith is expected to start at Guard this yr and Tyron moving back to Left Tackle. They will come up with an contingency plan for expected time missed for Tyron as they are comfortable with their three tackles.

-Think they are going to slow play Zeke Elliot, as they receive much more if he is a June 1st release. Jerry continues to say he wants him back, but Stephen says he cannot play on his current contract. Will Zeke accept a 2-3 million deal? They were looking at running backs at the combine, which suggests Zeke's time could be over.

Defense

-There are reports that the team is far apart in contract discussions with Lve. If Lve signs with another team, we can expect another veteran starter to be signed. Clark isn't ready and don't think they want a rookie starter at the position nor move Parsons there full time. Yes, Bobby Wagner will be in play, will he take less to play with Dan Quinn? If Edwards was still here, I bet former Viking, Hendricks would become a Cowboy. My guess, Wagner will be signed and finish out his career here. Don't think Barr returns.

-The same things are coming about Donovan Wilson, being far apart in contract discussion. Unlike Lve, they do have some in house replacement options. They also had close to 10 formal meeting at the combine with safety prospects. I am expecting to see Wilson signed on day 1 to a big contract for another team.

-Anthony Brown is now over 30, coming back from an achilles injury. Either they resign him to a low level, 1 yr deal to rehab with the team or they sign a bridge, starting fa. Word is that Diggs has been trying to recruit Patrick Peterson to sign with the team. He makes much more sense then trading for a Jalen Ramsey. Probably sign for less then 5 million and replace Brown as the starter.

-Dan Quinn forced the team to trade for a NT during the season, this would of never of happened during the Garrett years. Fully expected to see Jonathan Hankins resigned. Question is will they sign another NT or draft one on day 3 again like they did with Bohanna/Ridgeway? A'Shaun Robinson would be an excellent signing, heard Brockers has some interest. Fixing the run defense is priority #1 for the defense. As for the rest of the DL, Fowler might return on another 1 yr deal, if the cost is right.

Special Teams

-The Long Snapper will be resigned, question is what do they do about a place kicker? Do they sign a veteran fa like Gay from the Rams? This would be the best way to fix the position.

Free Agent Class

-OBJ, Wagner, Peterson, Hankins, Gay or someone similar at K

Good post.

I have not seen anything about this:
"team reportedly loves Farnoik"

It hedges their bets, as is taking another mid tier receiver for the back-end of the positional group.

Hang on, you've just conveniently blocked out the 49ers games and really the whole of '22 where the LINE WASNT THE PROBLEM.

Realistic outlook?

We gonna sit out for the first week, and then start throwing nickels and dimes around at middling players.
So, your predicting dumpster diving again ?
That's really going out on a limb there my friend !

We may end up dumpster diving as it appears from conflicting reports that MM, Dak, Jerry and Stephen can't agree what's going to fix the Offense and it's repeated 2nd half of the season inconsistencies.
Imo Jerry would be more inclined to go ALL-In on first week FA's if he was certain we were close. It's also possible that he only sort out OBJ, last year, as he thought he could get him on a cut price contract due to injury.

I have heard Bobby Belt mentioned this. Right now, he is a serviceable backup G/C with starting experience from last yr at Guard.
I like Farinok, but preferably not as a starter.

If they want to try him as a starting LG, it’s not ideal, but I could live with it. Wouldn’t go throwing remotes lol.

Who is Belt and how do you listen? Serious question. I’ve never heard of him.

Every year he advocates for a receiver in the first round and now its a big trade he wants.

They WERE fine at WR. They had the #1 scoring offense when Dak returned and made it to the 2nd round and went 12-5. Thats being fine.

Many of you claimed the Cowboys offense would go into the toilet, Lamb wasnt a true #1, and we wouldnt even be a winning team this year.

It was types like you that were wrong. Collins, Gregory, Cooper, yada yada yada. Cowboys got further than they did the year prior.

No, I was right again.

If I made a mistake it was predicting that Tolbert would be a viable #3 last year. He completely disappointed.
They were so fine that they tried to sign OBJ and then did sign Hilton.

And when push came to shove in big games, the offense sputtered, in part to Dak and claims they didn't have enough playmakers at WR.

Nowhere did I say the offense would go into the toilet. Now you are just making things up.

And for the record, I am in agreement they should continue to build the line (both lines, frankly). I am not a fan of using another first round pick on a WR at this point. Find another WR in FA and use the first few picks to address line needs IMO.

Belt is a Cowboy insider is on the fan and has a podcast w/Broaddus.

Farnoik is a quality, interior backup where he can spot start if called upon. No, he isn't a starter caliber player and he won't be asked to.
