Bears trade 1st overall pick to the Panthers

remember this happened because Lovie Smith made sure he could everything possible to win a game he should have lost and the Texans lost the no 1 pick.
Maybe that’s why he’s their former coach?

The Bears struck a deal with the Carolina Panthers on Friday to send them the top pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, according to multiple reports. In exchange, the Bears received two future first- and second-round draft picks and Panthers wide receiver DJ Moore, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

I am not judging the deal but this is in stark contrast to the boring, same old, same old in Jerald's world.

But chaps, at least the Bears and Panthers acted!
Our FO, so far, is classic example of a do-nothing organization.
Miffed and peeved at the sweat lodge. And you ruffians should also be spitting butter beans!

Holla, chaps.
Bears didn’t win 8 games genius.

Would you rather be their fan? Is fields the next mahomes?

I'd be fine if we were on the Bears side of that trade, but not so happy if we were on Carolina's. The Panthers better hope the QB they take turns out to be a franchise QB because that's a steep price.

The Cowboys won 13 games last year. The Bears won 3. The Panthers sucked also. I'll take the Cowboys.

Bears did the right thing; this gives them another year to evaluate Fields and at the same time add more pieces.
Frankly I laugh at the claim that building around Fields means if he busts all those players are worthless.
Good WRs Good RBs Good TE's are what every team needs.

IF they decide Fields is not the guy they have 2 #1's in a superior QB draft in 2024.

Where are the anti tankers now?

I think Bears win this trade but time will tell. Not sold on any QB being worth it in this draft and who will he throw the ball to now that Moore is gone

Three things spring to mind for me:
1) Huge overpay by Panthers
2) By giving away Moore and top picks, who will the QB throw to, where are the weapons.
3) What must the Houston Texans be thinking (Week 18)
