Maybe OBJ is overrating himself. Someone needs to tweet that.

And he was supposedly talking with several other teams. Could be an overall statement as no team is going to give him $20 million per season.
I figure that is what he is looking for. He may get it from a desperate team, but with his injury history and being out of the game, that seems pretty far fetched.

I would think that a conservative salary and some incentives would be what most teams are pitching to him. Maybe less than $10M and some incentives? Even that sounds pretty rich for his recent history.

IMO the whole prospect of signing OBJ or not comes down to this: Are we serious about getting better at WR or are we just trying to generate excitement with a “name” fans will recognize?

Being one of the teams interested, one can only assume he's talking about Jerry and cap boy

What a headcase. And a moron.

OBJ, you're frickin' weird, and you get hurt a lot. I thought you thought of yourself as smart? Here's one for you. Did you know: The way you act can hurt your contract.

Not rocket science, numbnuts, though it appears that maybe it is for you.

If push came to shove and we knew Dhop was going to massively rework his deal...agreed.
Jane Slater alluded to something along those lines, saying something about him taking less than top market value to come to Dallas.

Ya he mentioned it either thru Dez or a tweet...about that.

I think we can be creative with his 26 mill and spread that better for a good 2 year contract.

just bring back TO and dez too, and the dunk scooter kid. ray caruth is out of jail for murder let's get him too. That last one is for the hero worshipers who don't care what an athlete does as long as it helps the team.

This is the problem with signing OBJ now. He is all about the money. I don’t blame him but the Cowboys should stay clear of this guy. Give the extra money to Wagner and bring Hankins back. Draft a wide receiver, tight end, running back, and offensive linemen then let’s go to war with the best defense in football. Of course Jerrah can’t market that.

"get that money, screw the team and owners, they make millions," said the hero worshipers.

Just the sound of him makes me say "No!".

Does he realize he is coming of a second major restructure of the same knee and the offs of him even playing are slim? The odds of him being 100% are slimmer. The best odds he give a team is that he will not finish the season because of that knee.

Signing players like OBJ depends on the signers believing he is the player he was and not the player he is. That's the mistake the Cowboys made with Anthony Barr last year.

I am in line with this thinking. I think OBJ thinks he's an elite WR still and should be paid that way.

He's not. And teams aren't going to pay him when you factor everything in................ coming off major surgery, hasn't played for a year, has his "drama" at times. I think teams are floating one year prove it deals or something like a 2 year deal and he's holding out for a 3-4 year, big guarantee type deal.

I'd be stunned if he ended up with some massive contract. I laugh at Jerry and Stephen waiting FA out until guys get desperate but this is one time, I absolutely would wait it out.
OBJ is definitely elite when healthy, but he’s not.. His impact was very easily seen in the SB and how his presence impacted the Bengals defense as soon as he was taken off the field…

But nobody is giving him a long term contract in this scenario. As I said, his situation is more akin to a mercenary for the playoffs type deal now.

he can easily put an offense over the edge, for a short run needed to make a run in the playoffs and win a SB.
