This is actually a very good point.

Some players take it as an insult if you want them to take a paycut so they will have the team release them and then sign back later on a cheaper deal.

I think this is what is going to happen with Zeke...........................he is going to be back in Dallas this season, that is why the team has not even tried to sign a vet RB yet.
Not only that, but he was openly talking about taking a paycut. I wonder if there is some sort of NFLPA rule where he has to be cut if he's going to take a significant enough paycut. Plus, with Dak being best friends with Zeke, I can't imagine Zeke would want to leave. My guess is he comes back on a 2-3 year bet on himself contract.

I think Zeke gave the team enough.

His frame has a lot of hits on it.

Take the money and run.

I've been saying the Ravens, the Bills or the Chargers.
Zeke, if he has anything left, would be a good compliment to Ekeler. And the Chargers need to keep Herbert upright in the passing game, especially since Moore is there now.
The Bills need to reduce Allen's rushing load. If the Bills don't get Robinson, they too could use a short yardage, move the chains back like Zeke.
Either way, Allen needs to stop running as much are he's going to get worn down, ala, Cam Newton.
Ditto for Lamar Jackson, if he gets signed.
That's why I think he's destined for either of those teams.
Also my dark horse .... Miami.
If I was Zeke, I would refuse a contract with the Chargers. Unless his contract states Moore must remove the runs into a stacked box.

When he was first released, I heard Tampa. Now, I'm hearing Buffalo.

I'm a Zeke fan, but cutting him was the right move.

What I don''t get is the Zeke hate even now he's gone. The guy literally gave his all every single snap he played for us. He was immature off the field early in his career, but he grew up and stopped the nonsense.

I've never seen a featured back pick up the blitz better than Zeke did. He could have been a diva considering the money he was making, but he still did the dirty work. So many times there were 3 defenders meeting him in the backfield because of our scheme. That had to be frustrating but I never heard him complain.

When it was obvious last year that Pollard was the better back, he praised him and was always one of the first to meet him after a big play. He could have whined about his touches and that he could do the same, but he never did. He was the ultimate team guy in my books.

Again, we made the right move. But I will be a Zeke fan as long as he's not playing us. I hope he has a great year on a team that will have a chance to win it all.
Mot fans on here must have a player or 2 to hate on, or just hate on everything. Like a school yard bully, but faking it over the keyboard. :lmao2:

I agree, Zeke fan but it was time to move on. Mostly from the salary cap hit. I still think he can contribute for a OC that knows what he is doing.

I seen linked to the Bills, or it was just a reporters speculation.
I could see the Ravens, but with a healthy Dobbins, and the other RB, Jackson? :muttley: they may be ok.
Bengals lost Perrine, so maybe there to have Mixson and Zeke, for protection of Burrow, since they have OL issues.
I hope not LAC, as Moore would run him into stacked boxes again.
Lions, Bears both possibly, TB, but they just signed a RB.

It would be nice if Zeke could end up in KC, on a low key level. Their backs are rotated on better cycles, and they play aren't expected to carry the team.

They are not going to eat his dead money and then pay him on top of that to come back. The pay cut didn’t work. He is gone.
I really thought he should have taken the paycut. I don’t think he can play anymore and he could have milked it for another year in Dallas.

I've heard the term "short-yardage back" 100 times this month.

Guess what folks? That's not a thing in the NFL. No GM, No head coach says, "The thing that's really holding us back is we've got no short-yardage back"

I laugh every time I read it.

I think the Jets. People forget he's a great blocking back. He's really good with blitz pick-ups. And a great receiver out of the backfield. Rodgers would welcome that.

Zeke will never be offered a contract of multiple years again. I can't imagine anything much above the vet minimum either.
