I apologize. Rules are any round, not just 1st round.

I would have Jalen Hyatt on there if that were the case.

  1. Keaton Mitchell.
    Found him at the back of the list. On tape, he looked like a little Pollard to me. Then I saw his 4.2 speed at the combine.

    Cons
    He's about 5'9180 lbs.

    Pros
    Um, well . . . 4.2 speed. If you're going West Coast and running screen and those types of delayed pitch plays, screens can be deadly.
  2. Devon Achane
    OK, so he's not really obscure; not a first down back? Fine. Not worth it? Yada,yada.. OK. He runs a 4.32. And he could definitely be a weapon with Pollard first half, with a different style of offense, and a first-year contributor. Definite consideration, at least, a la Felix Jones or Darren Sproles type.

    Cons?

    He's undersized, some would say. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

  3. Zack Kuntz

    Speaking of late bloomers, he's got size. We're talking a kid at 6'7 250 who played behind another TE from Penn State whom I also like in some ways before and after Kuntz decided to transfer to OD. Kuntz also ran a 4.5 at the combine. He's like a state champion 110 hurdles. Long stride, champion track athelete.

    Cons?
    He's inexperienced. Had bad luck with injury after he kept growing.

  4. Dawand Jones

    6'8'' 360 lbs. Started for Ohio State at RT. Just as big as it gets. And you can see why he'd be an interesting look and I'd be cool with a player like that with Tyron, Steele, as swing, competition et cetera.

    Young and strong. Could be the Cowboys' kinda guy, and possible year one contributor, especially if he has even a little flex potential.

    Cons: inexperienced, slow, a little lethargic. But that size and strength is to behold.

  5. Israel Abinikanda

    I don't know jack squat about this guys measurables. I just know he can play football. Get him on the field and he's a homerun threat every time if you don't stop him. Great 2nd level burst, great for crowd roar/ticket sales/perhaps wins.

    Cons: I included him in obscure because like I said, unknowns measurables because didn't test at the combine.
    (My honorary mentions would be Josh Downs and Felix Anudike-Uzomah. Both a bit undersized. But smooth players with high-motors and can really play.)

Josh Downs: 5'8-7/8", 171
The Cowboys reportedly like this player.

Any WR or CB under 5-11, 190.

Any DL with less than 33" arms (Quinn prefers 34" or better).

RB:
Not certain. Emmitt was 5-9 but about 212 when drafted and got up to about 220 in the NFL.

DE Nolan Smith. 6-2, 238, sub 33" arm length.

I think Gibbs at 5-9, 199 would be A-Typical for the Cowboys.

I could live with late 3rd or 4th however when he is on the field opponents are gonna sell out on the pass every time. No earlier than those rounds though.
 
Kancey(DT), Turner(CB), Pace(LB)

Are players I could see them passing on and instead take another Gallimore, Nashon Wright type that meets their measurables but can't play.
 
Jack Campbell seems like the kind of twitched-up LB that Dallas loves to draft. If he tore his ACL, Jerry would already be fitting him for a jersey.

A 6'7'' TE that runs a 4.5 is typical?

His RAS is 10. I'd say that's as a-typical as it gets.

Same for D. Jones.. Abinikanda didn't run at the combine, but looks fast on film.

Downs is a smooth player. I actually like him too. But it's more of a reluctant, 2nd round type like. lol

I suspect they like Campbell myself. You draft him and see if he can outplay LVE.

-6'7" yet runs 4.55 40
-40 inch vertical! (Dude can nearly touch top of bball backboard)

At this point very raw. Who knows if he ever grows out of his workout-warrior assessment into a real football player.

This tight end class is good, deep and just damn straight interesting. Kuntz probably ranks 8th.
 
There's a RB who is even more of an oddity and some think he'll be seeing playtime as a rookie.

Ultra quick, fast and hard for defensive players to get visual contact on. 5'6"

He has more actual production than D. Washington. He also has some pedigree having been recruited and playing at Penn State for a couple years.

He’s one guy I’d like to see them take a shot at. Kid could be a real difference maker at reciever.
