He's got the need. The need for speed.

I'd be fine trading up for him to 20 for him.

Can easily sew the Chargers or Ravens raking him if he's still on the board at that time.

Questionble hands
Limited Route Tree
Possibly product of that offense

However he does have speed

If you read the above statements,,,you could get a Trey Palmer who has similar good.bad issues and not spend a first round pick on him

He would be just what our offense needs. He would be the deep threat we haven't had in quite a while. HIs acceleration out of his route stem and excellent ball tracking are his super powers and what separates him from other WRs with straight speed.

I’m not trading up for him but I like him at 26.

His speed alone would do a lot for our offense. Something we haven’t had around here in over a decade.

He has some red flags in terms of a WR. He's fast for sure. But read most scouting reports and there are some concerns. One, as noted, he ran a limited route tree at UT. Two, he seems to struggle with zone more than other top WRs, not having a "feel" for finding open areas. I saw one scouting report that showed him often actually running into coverage facing zone defenses.

Talk of trading up for him is kind of crazy IMO.

If you want to knock him as a route runner, that’s fair, he has some work and development to do there.

But to say he ain’t good against zone is incorrect. He absolutely throttled both man and some schemes this year. He was 1 of a handful of WRs that had 3+ yards per route vs man and zone this year (Harrison Jr was one of the other few).

YPRR vs. Zone coverage for 2023 WR class:

1.)Rashee Rice: 3.85
2.)Jalin Hyatt: 3.51
3.)Trey Palmer: 3.47
4.)Quentin Johnston: 3.25
5.)Ronnie Bell: 3.08
6.Xavier Hutchinson:2.86
7.)AT Perry:2.57
8.)Parker Washington:2.47
9.)Tank Dell:2.39
10.)Zay Flowers:2.14
11.) Josh Downs:2.05

His career rate drop rate is also less than half of some of the top guys like Johnston and Flowers. More I watch and research the more I like him.

He’s got some development to do like most WRs but burners that are 6’0+ with a big catch radius, good hands and SEC production is a homerun combo.

Most overrated player in recent years… one year wonder. Peerless Price clone waiting to happen!

Trey Palmer is a guy that I am watching. Somewhere between 58 and 90 would be a great place to take him.

Not a single WR in round 1, let alone giving up draft capital to move up.

Questionable hands?

His career drop rate is on par with JSNs and is less than half of that of Johnston and Flowers.

What makes you say that?

Ran a limited route tree (because of the offense he played). Was open deep quite a bit (he's fast, Hooker could have started a small town in a desert with the time he had on those throws).

From what I see, you have someone who can get deep. Doesn't really go up to high point the ball much. Slight frame, and will have to add a little weight. Did not see much film on him against press coverage. But from some of the scouting videos I've watched, they point out that he was rather horrid when placed against press coverage, struggling to get free. RAC is great on those deep routes because he was so far ahead, but questioning how he can get yards after making a 5 yd catch. One great year.
I think his ceiling is rather high, but his floor is considerably low for a 1st round pick.

I think you can get a similar player in Flowers who can make crazy adjustments to make a catch, get great RAC yards, and play press better.

If the staff thinks they can coach him up to get better against press, and expand his route tree, then he could be worth it.

Hyatt, IMO, is a mid to late 2nd round pick. There will almost assuredly be better talent at 26.

Not for a WR in the first round. Sorry.
Good receivers can be had down to round 4.
We need to run the rock. And sprinkle a little Dak in every now and then.
If it's Super Bowl-bound, our attack needs to stay on the ground.
I'm taking Robinson over Hyatt.

He's not worth a 1st rounder
