If they add another receiving weapon/playmaker, who would you want?

We picked up Cooks, so I don't think we necessarily have a role that needs to be filled. However, since we don't know exactly what we have in the tight ends, I would lean that way between the two choices. Ferguson and/or Hendershot may be fine, but we have a chance to add a stud at the spot with Mayer or Kincaid. Honestly, though, I'm not drafting either position until the fourth round on unless the value is just way too good to pass up.
We have no idea what we will get out of Gallup nor our younger prospects behind him. Cooks is basically on a 1yr deal with a team option. They are going to have to replace Shultz production. Think you can either add a legitimate TE or another receiver based on the scheme we will run.

While it is true we don't know what we are going to get from Gallup, he is one year removed from his surgery and has shown himself to be capable in the No. 3 role. Plus, we've got Cooks for two years if we want him, so this group could stay intact for at least a couple of years.

I think we have more pressing concerns to address all things being equal. I do think TE is more pressing because we don't know how Ferguson and Hendershot are going to develop.

I can't understand wanting our team to compete for Super Bowls now, but then wanting to use our top pick on a player who is superfluous. Can one of these receivers make us better? Sure, but how much better than addressing a position where we don't already have a clear group of quality starters in place. Maybe if we drafted a receiver and traded Gallup it would make sense to me, but Gallup's dead cap hit is too much of that and he doesn't have the same value he had a year ago.

My plan would be to go receiver hunting either next year or the year after. Give Tolbert a chance to show why he was a third-round pick this year and then respond accordingly next year ... unless a unicorn at the position falls to us.

Based on their interest, they want to add another receiver, which tells me that they will be running more multiple receivers than double te sets, think they may actually employ a fullback too

Don't quit your day job. Analyzing talent isn't your thing. Bijan Robinson is going to dominate in this league. Bookmark this post.
Its definitely not yours either. Your boy Lil Jordan Humphrey has been tearing

Robinson won't get to play the trash defenses Texas plays in the NFL. When he played Bama, he got bottled up

If we was creative enough, give me Gibbs, but we don’t play really creative so give me Flowers.

Give me Quinton Johnston........large X who could actually allow you to run a true WCO.

I never said Humphrey was going to come in this league and dominate. What RB did Bama not bottle up? The Big 12 matches up very well with the SEC.
Here is a list of all the Longhorns in the NFL. Give me the list I hyped.

Based on the reports and visits, it appears the Cowboys would like to add another weapon to their passing attack, who do you want:

WR-Q. Johnson, Flowers, Hyatt, Downs, Tillman, Rice, Mingo, Dell, Mims, Scott
TE-Mayer, Kincaid, Mustgrave, Washington, LaPorta

With the loss of Dalton Shultz who was Dak's go to guy on third down, think they have to fill that role: either a slot WR or a TE.
I just not wowed by the WR options in this draft.

It just feels like at each of #26, #58 and #90 there will be players at other positions that I prefer over the available WRs.

Plan A:
26 Jalin Hyatt wr Tennessee

58 Jahmyr Gibbs rb Alabama

90 Atonio Mafi og UCLA

129 Payne Durham te Purdue

Plan B:
26 Bijan Robinson rb Texas

58 Tank Dell wr Houston

90 Atonio Mafi og UCLA

129 Payne Durham te Purdue
Love plan B

They don't want to miss out on wr this year after what happened with Tolbert and Gallup last year. They need to grab a good one.

What worries me about Hyatt is most of his catches are just I will run past you, he reminds me of Will Fuller.
That was the Tennessee offense. If I worry about anything it's him beating press coverage.

Unlike a lot of people I really like Hyatt.

Hyatt has worth, but I feel Dak works better with high end route runners

Agree, but it sure looks like they want to draft one and could be with a top 3 selection
