If they add another receiving weapon/playmaker, who would you want?

Hyatt has worth, but I feel Dak works better with high end route runners
I bet he'd work well with a guy who gets separation like Hyatt does too. No clue if the team even likes him though so who knows?

They bottled up Robinson. 57 yards on 21 carries. Only Big 12 homers think Big 12 matches up well with SEC
Yeah, the Big 12 in comparison to the SEC is pretty much a joke. Defense is optional and the talent pool is just not there.
There's a list of college football programs with the most players on NFL rosters and the SEC dominates. Bama has 58, LSU 52, sandwich in Slowhio St. with 52 and then you go back to toggling between SEC and Big 10 Teams.
The first B12 School listed is Chokelahoma with 32.

As for Bama's defense against the rush, I think they came in around a pedestrian (for their standards) 40th in 2022 vs. FBS schools. It was over 130 yards/game. So by Saban standards, I'm sure he'll tell you they weren't as good as they needed to be against the run.

Think he has to prove he can do more then just our run his guy, which he won’t be able to as much on the nfl level. Was a little disappointed in his 40 time

Agree, but it sure looks like they want to draft one and could be with a top 3 selection
I'd be very surprised if they didn't take one in the 1st or 2nd based on the interviews and what happened last year.

WR Hyatt
  • Run game will see lighter boxes out of defense’s respect for his explosiveness.
TE Kincaid
  • Possesses outstanding ball-tracking and focus as receiver.
RB/Slot Gibbs
  • Mismatch weapon in the passing game.
  • Route running makes him a tough cover in man.

Based on the reports and visits, it appears the Cowboys would like to add another weapon to their passing attack, who do you want:

WR-Q. Johnson, Flowers, Hyatt, Downs, Tillman, Rice, Mingo, Dell, Mims, Scott
TE-Mayer, Kincaid, Mustgrave, Washington, LaPorta

With the loss of Dalton Shultz who was Dak's go to guy on third down, think they have to fill that role: either a slot WR or a TE.
Mayer and it’s not close

There is no WR or TE that would have the impact Bijan Robinson would. He is a very good receiver out of the back field.
1. Drafting is not about immediate impact
2. 7 or 8 different backs would have an immediate impact.

You take OL first then a back that impact will be even better.

Unless you fix oline those picks won’t matter.

Drafting Bijan isn't about immediate impact. It's about a minimum of 4-5 years impact.
Draft your OL in the 2nd round. You never pass up an elite player for the 5th rated OL that will fall to 26.
If Bijan is already off the board than I agree with you 100%.

I sense with the players they are looking at, we may see more multiple wr sets, then double TE's. More of a spread offense so to speak. Wonder if MM will employ a FB, which he had success with in GB. Mayer would be an excellent fit to our prior offensive scheme.

I wouldnt hate the pick. Just think you can get the first round guard and solidify the line for the next 7 years then get your great back in the 3rd or 4th round. Dont need a Robinson to have a great ground game. And he is only going to be good for 4 or 5 years and then hes done. Poor use of a first round pick.

If you have done your homework on backs you would know this is an incredible draft for backs and there are 8 great backs at least.

Robinson gets a lot of hype because he plays on a great team with great players.

And if we dont fix the line, then it wont matter what skill position players we draft. Cowboys are winning diddly until we get the OLine fixed.

And with Pollard it makes even less of a need.
