Daniel Jones's contract may be an issue for G-men

Jones doesn't have a bad cap hit for 2023. After that, it's not that pretty.

How people can think jones is better than Dak is funny. I don’t think it’s going to work out to well for the giants. They just shot themselves in the foot for next few years.

But they will be picking on the top 10 so they can draft another qb.
 
In Jones defense all he had was Barkley. He didn't have the WRs and his offensive line was terrible. You put Dak with the Giants and I think his results would be similar to Jones.

Yeah, but that gives them a solid one year window. This year while he's at a reasonable cap hit. Because after this season, they'll have to decide what to do with his contract. They're not winning anything with him at a 45M cap hit.

We've already seen how good Dak was without weapons. Back in 2018 prior to acquiring Cooper.

Nobody actually believes that. They just say it for spite. NO one is THAT dumb to think the horrid Jones is better than Dak. Giants will regret that one REAL fast if they havent already.

Barkley is skipping workouts because they can't agree on a contract.

Guess why Lawrence is skipping workouts?

He needs a new contract and soaring DT market has created an issue there.


Last year Jones attended all workouts and camp as they talked contract and then went out and had a very good season.
Is he overpaid? Absolutely.
Does that have anything to do with Barkley or Lawrence motivation to skip workouts? ZERO!!
 
This is nothing new, the Steelers had the same problem when they paid the QB and WR, the RB wanted to get paid as well. And Flacco's deal sent some Ravens packing.

I call this the "Smothers Brothers Syndrome" or Mom always liked you better.

The dumb part about Lombardi's article is that the players care about how much they are paying Jones because they know the franchise QB challenge as well as anyone.

Think Hill didn't want to get paid when they paid Mahomes? That's why he left.

Any player gets big bucks, the dominoes begin to fall just like on SB teams with players with contracts up.
 
Barkley will be a free agent next year. I think the Giants are just hoping to get one more good year out of him then they will let him go.
