Jerry sells hope every year and fans continue to eat it up. We'll see what happens in January. Don't know why this year will be any different.
It's not hope and it has nothing to do with Jerry. We are better at CB2. WR2, and DT. Zero doubt. Hope would be saying Jalen Carter basically replaces their best defensive player in his rookie year.

You're wrong. The Eagles have NOT become very adept at having draft picks come in to replace people. Look at the last ten years of their drafts. It's trash. Bottom ten in the league. They have missed A BUNCH.
Really?
Well let's review, shall we?

Offense
WR 1- AJ Brown (trade for a 1st round pick)
WR 2- Devonte Smith (Draft)
WR 3- Quez Watkins (Draft)
QB- Jalen Hurts (Draft)
RB- D'Andre Swift (trade for draft picks)
TE- Dallas Goedert (Draft)
LT-Jordan Mialata (Draft)
LG- Landon Dickerson (Draft)
C- Jason Kelce (Draft)
RG- Cam Juergens (Draft) Issac Semalu was also an Eagles draft pick)
RT- Lane Johsnson (Draft)

Defense
DE- Brandon Graham (Draft)
DT- Fletcher Cox (Draft)
DT- Jordan Davis (Draft)
DE- Josh Sweat (Draft)
DT- Jalen Carter (Draft)
LB- Nakobe Dean (Draft)
LB- Nic Morrow (FA)
CB- Darius Slay (Trade for 1st round draft pick)
CB James Bradberry (FA)
S- Terrel Edmunds (FA)
S- Sydney Brown (Draft)

So, 9 of 11 on Offense, and 7 of 11 on Defense were their own draft picks.
So 16 of 22 starters were drafted by them.
3 of 22 were trades for draft picks (including 2 stars they acquired for 1st rounders).
3 of 22 were FA signings (none of which were major signings at the time)

Yeah, they really suck at drafting.

AND, the Georgia stuff just might be too cute. Get a bunch of young, immature players who are bros from college and bring them to big city. Tell them they are Super Bowl locks. Heap praise on the Eagles all off season. Recipe meet disaster. Not to mention the history of Super Bowl losers.

TE- Dallas Goedert (Draft)

LG- Landon Dickerson (Draft)
C- Jason Kelce (Draft)

Okay. let's go year-by-year. (sydney brown isn't a starter yet, and Dean hasn't shown he can be -- so, it's more lie 14/22. Not a good percentage.) Cox, Graham, and Kelce were all draft picks MORE THAN A DECADE AGO. The Eagles are old and their depth SUCKS. Any injury on oline, wr, lb, safety, or te1 -- they are playing with scrubs.

2022 -- They got Davis, who averaged 20 snaps and was not impressive. Nobody else of note
2021 -- Smith and Dickerson. Solid, WR2 and Guard. No pro bowls though
2020 -- All busts but Hurts.
2019 -- All busts but an ok Rb (miles sanders)
2018 -- A very good year. Goeddert, Maddux, Sweat, Mailata (this year is keeping them afloat)
2017 -- Bust city unless you count Rasoul Douglas.
2016 -- Wentz and a guard who they let go.
2015 -- Jordan Hicks?? Lol
2014 -- ummmm... i don't recognize any of these guys
2013 -- Lane Johnson, Zach Ertz, Jordan Poyer -- good draft.

So, I count 2 above average drafts (2018, 2013) and one solid draft (2021) in the past DECADE. 5 absolute busts, and then one year that's a bust outside of Hurts.

Wanna compare the Cowboys? Eagles have what, two regular pro bowlers? Three if you count Ertz. In a decade.

If 3 out of your 14 drafted starters come from more than a decade ago, you are NOT adept at drafting replacements. Which is what this argument is about

Jalen? Kind of a wild card. He's still in the ascending stage. Last year he was exponentially better than the year before. Will he take ANOTHER jump this year? Impossible to say until we watch him... .. but so far he hasn't had a year he wasn't much better than the previous year, but everyonelevels off after a certainnumber of seasons. If he takes ANOTHER step up this year they will be miles better than us. If he levels off... then it's much closer.
I think this is a valid point in predicting what Philly will do next year. . . I believe last year was his ceiling as the league learns and adjusts to Him

A.J was a god send and the league will adjust to Him as Well

Sure. You better hope that Steen can play inside where he is supposed sit down and anchor. His game was to use his long *** arms to steer guys outside. At 315 at first glance it might seem okay but at 6'6" that is not a lot of density. Kelce has always been undersized.

Mazi is precisely the type of player that gives guys like that fits. Bigger, quicker, stronger. You cannot Morgan Moses lean on a guy like Mazi.

One thing to consider is that Hargraves was one of the best run defenders in the NFL. Smith and Carter are excellent players and might be good run defenders for what they do. They do not do what Hargraves did in terms of controlling the los. Cox is still there but every year he slows down that much more. Cox is certainly at the age where the wheels can fall off at any time.

If you are planning on a 3rd round and picks over 100 to solve your losses at both starting S you are delusional. In contrast, the cowboys lost Brown and Brown and replaced them with Cooks and Gilmore for two picks over 100. Schultz is gone and Ferguson looked a lot better as a rookie than Schultz did. Throw in Schoonmaker and the chaff and it llooks like depth.

Eagles S depth is absolute trash. Cowboys fans know very well what it looks like throwing UDFA, late rounders, and cast offs at the S position. Have fun with the big plays.

So the Eagles without Hargreaves are less capable of anchoring the los than before while the Cowboys are much better equipped. The Cowboys were able to much better fill their holes using late round picks than the Eagles did.

Yes we improved, but we didnt improve our biggest weakness which is the Oline.

I know the hopefuls like to think the old and injured guys will always be healthy, but this Oline is going to be a problem.
 . . . Is this actually a Cowboy Fan's Belief?. . . Is this why everybody hates Mazi and Schoon?

Now I understand

Dude, just admit they are a well run organization.
Why is that so hard for you to admit?
You said they sucked at drafting.
I proved they do not.
I don't intend to spend much time refuting you and going through their drafts year by year, but Dickerson was a pro bowler. He didn't go since they were in the Super Bowl. And Davis was injured last year, plus they got Juergens and Dean, who will start for them this year.
As I said, 16 of their 22 starters were through their own draft picks, and that team is the defending NFC Champs.
That's a team that drafts well.
Cowboys have drafted well too, don't be so insecure.
It's OK to acknowledge that they have done a good job.
It's the truth.

We upgraded our biggest weaknesses last year -- DT, WR2 and CB2.

The Eagles? They got Jalen Carter, who will not replace Hargraves production for at least a couple years. And Nolan Smith, who is a duplicate of Reddick. You're not playing two 235 DE at the same time.

Meanwhile, they lost both starting safeties, their best linebacker, their best starting guard. Both coordinators. Five key players for them are over 33 (Slay, Cox, Johnson, Kelce, and Graham). Hargraves was their best D player, the entire glue. They have 2.25 wide receivers, one who could break in a strong wind. Their QB got paid.

They still have a great roster. But so do we. Best one since the 90s. We're better today than last year. And the Eagles are worse, despite what Steven A. Smith and Colin Cowturd and Chandler Random say
This team is nowhere near the 2016 team offensively. That team had a better offensive line, better TE, better QB , better receivers and better RB’s with Demarco.

This team has a much better defense however.

They do suck at drafting. They do a great job of drafting linemen but look at their history of first rounders? They traded 3 for Wentz, One for Reagor….they stink in the first round.

Are you foolish enough to be saying that the Cowboys have been better than the Eagles over the last decade? LOL ... BTW, 5 drafted pro-bowlers last year with Dickerson, Hurt, Kelse (All-Pro/HOF), Johnson (All-Pro/HOF), and Sanders.
