I am online during the day while working. Guess I will consider bringing a bottle of John Watling Amber with me and stash it inside my desk drawer if Jones does sign Wentz. Not being sober must be best way of reading those threads and posts.

HR will have a problem with it. *Thinks some more about a Wentz signing* <Expletive> it.

I don't know how Wentz fell off so hard. Especially in a league where athleticism really plays at QB.

He is cooked at this point, but he just never seemed to learn anything about the mental side of QB'ing. You don't have to even be that smart for physical talent to start carrying you. Just take care of basic decision making like throwing some balls away vs eating a sack, and looking off receivers who are double-covered in the end zone.

Wentz isn't stupid... IIRC he had a 40 Wonderlic and a 4-point GPA. Arrogance is a trite answer, but it's the best I've got.

:banghead::banghead::lmao2::lmao2::lmao:.......they have to much time on their hands

No way inepto injury-prone Prescott avoids being injured this coming season esp with the defenses we will face.
Pick him up if you can Jerry....

Contract also matters. Whether he is willing to come to a team that isn't likely to give him a chance to start also matters.
I think he’s content, knowing he’s only a back up. Personally, I don’t know how he can be, but that’s what they’re saying. If he has any pride left at all, if you know what I mean.

How can you possibly say he’s injury prone. So many other quarterbacks have had so many more injuries than him. Oh that’s right, you don’t give him any slack whatsoever

LOL. I'll pass. He's a weird dude. He also can tend to rub teammates the wrong way. I am all for upgrading the backup QB position.

Wentz aint it at this point.

Is it possible to say that he‘d be an excellent backup without saying that he’s a great quarterback?

both things can be true AND not be a threat to Dakotas amazing abilities and successes

Absolutely no way the cowboys add competition in the QB category. Jerry will die on his hill with Dak.

Plus I think Wentz is "mentally" done. Whatever happened to him in Philly just broke him.

Also, my coworker who's like a lunatic of a cowboys fan thinks Dak would go the Carson Wentz route if he wasn't on the Cowboys.
Why would we add a Dak Clone..would rather just role with Rush as the QB2 considering we didn't bother drafting a QB to at least groom.

Not weighing in on Wentz but....

The team should always have 3 QB's on the roster.

1) QB #1
2) Seasoned Veteran
3) Developmental QB with actual credentials

The position is too important, and the playbook too difficult to learn, to go with only 2 QB's.
It’s hard to have 3 on the roster because it’s hard to have a 3rd QB who is one of your top 53 players. Every position is important to develop and those last few spots are for the guys most likely to develop

After McCarthy has to replace Dak with Wentz at mid season for total ineffectiveness/poor play, Dak makes a press conference speech during the last week 17 reg season game stating that the NFL is a meritocracy and that Wentz has earned his right to take the Cowboys into the playoffs after having led them to 9 straight victories.

Wentz then leads Dallas to a SB win and Risen is hailed as CowboyZone Royalty for the rest of his days.

Leaving Dak out of the discussion, no team wants Wentz in their locker room. Something is going on with him. He had a 27-7 TD-pick ratio two years ago in Indianapolis and they couldn't wait to get rid of him. Then he went to Washington and was awful just as he was in his last year in Philly.

My prediction is Wentz won't be signed by anybody until some team's backup gets hurt.
