Actual Safeties, quality OL's in the mid rounds, good rotational DT's, and now an actual 1st round NT.

I personally think it's MM, and that we are on the way to true contention. RB position worries me greatly as does the LB position in general, but overall we are looking good.
No doubt it’s MM. night and day difference from the previous “team building” strategy through the Garrett years. Plenty of competition created where it never existed before 3 years ago. That’s quite a coincidence!

Where are the quality lineman in the mid rounds? Biadasz? The guy everyone said sucks?

rotational dt’s make sense? When? They only made more sense because we finally drafted a stud 1 tech.
Biadasz(Anyone who says he sucks needs to get rid of their football card. )
McGovern wasn't terrible. Steele is good, and Ball is yet to be seen, as well as Waletzgo.

The RB position should never worry you "greatly." There are always RBs available.

Weve seen ball he is terrible. Mcgovern wasnt good enough.

Steele and Biadasz were good enough but you need studs along the line.

Walenzko I have little hope for.

This is kind of a head scratcher. I think the bolded has been a weakness and part of what is a big question mark for this team. Who are you referring to on the OL that we have drafted in the mid rounds (obviously excludes Tyler Smith) since McCarthy has been here that has both made an impact and is expected to continue doing so? In the first 3 drafts we have an average NFL center and a bunch of guys who may be cut that we drafted in the mid rounds on the OL. Maybe this year Richards becomes a player. I don't think that is better than what most NFL teams have done in the last 4 years and probably worse than the average.

I do like what we have done with the roster overall. I know every team tries to get better and thinks they have, but if you add Cooks and Gilmore and Mazi to last years team and Pollard doesn't get hurt I think we beat SF. Now of course they will have a more experienced QB and added another big piece on the DL in free agency so they will likely be better also

Rest easy my friend. In 2023 the least two important positions in football are RB snd LB.

RB would have worried me much more had we decided to keep Zeke again. The fact we moved on tells me we have a plan. I am far less worried. The fact we drafted Deuce and signed RJ makes me worry far less. We have Malik as well. Pollard will be the wild card at rb. Will he be himself?

The RB position should always worry you. There are never enough effective RBs available.

Honestly, this idea that it's easy to find a good RB is a myth, perpetuated by the media. Don't fall for it.

Unless you don't have quality ones, then they become the most important positions in football.

I worry about RB to. Pollard isn't a full time starter and all the other RBs aren't proven.
We need to sign a veteran At least inquire about Derrick Henry.
Seriously, people want Hopkins, but I think we need another back and not a receiver. It’s Pollard and the rookie Vaughn…..I don’t see much from the others, unless the coaching staff knows something we don’t.

I do think we need better 3T's. I think Odighizuwa is a good rotational peice and solid starter, but I dont think he is a difference maker as an everydown guy. Fehoko is interesting long term, but he is still a project and probably not much more than an energy guy at the moment.

I think we could get their at the position, but whiffing in Hill and Gallimore hurt. I will 3 day 2 investments in back to back to back years shows that they are willing to spend at the position. Actually 4 in 4 years if Golston converts to 3T

This off-season has 90% of us thinking that is as good as we’ve seen in a long time here, especially in free agency.

The sad part is that would be considered a mediocre off season if viewed by Niners and Eagles fans.

We are so used to seeing dumpster diving and project players that even the mediocre/ above average off season moves seem extraordinary

And yes, count me in as being pleased about our moves…….I just hope our competitors haven’t done better

HB yes. I think people are crowning Duece too quickly, and I like Duece. Im ok with where we are at LB talent wise. Alot depends on Clark taking step up, and/or Overshown hitting the ground running. I think if Clark takes that step to become a starting quality player and Overshown can contribute we should he ok there.

The RB position should always worry you. There are never enough effective RBs available.

This love affair with Deuce is reminding me a lot of last year's love affair with Turpin. Who knows? Maybe he'll turn out to be a Hell of a weapon, but there's a stronger possibility he just has occasional flashes, like Turpin has had. I have serious doubts that our RB situation is fine, and if there's nobody in FA who can do much damage, we might be better off making our WR corps extremely strong, in order to open up things for the RBs we have.

It's really not. Adequate RBs are always available. Look at all the starting RBs and significant role players who were third-day picks or UFAs. They're everywhere.

A good-to-great RB may be a little different, but it's just not a position that should ever worry you "greatly," because there's always a decent floor of talent available.
