Sorta wish we’d have started him after Quincy got cut. Testaverde and Bledsoe was a waste of time.

He wasn’t ready and could have lost his confidence. We started him at the perfect time.

I loved Romo and I love Dak. They are having similar careers but rabid Romo lovers will tear down Dak to build up Romo. To be fair, it happens the other way around too. They will never forgive Dak for taking Romo's job. They root against Dak so Dak can be seen as a failure like Romo is. That's why you see the Romo hate.

BTW, I loved Romo's episode. He's a good dude. He's not a leader though, and you have to be at the QB position. I think that was the only thing he was lacking. I wished they would've included his last TD he threw. I don't know why they didn't. He came in on that drive and marched them right down the field for an easy TD.

Romo was an elite quarterback hamstrung by a horribly run franchise. Dak is not even close to being elite in a horribly run franchise. It's as simple as that.

Yes. Parcells didn’t think he was ready his first few seasons.

Coach. He believed in the philosophy of letting a QB sit for a couple of years to learn.

Very rare in the modern NFL where most young QB’s are just thrown to the wolves.

You must have forgot what it was like with Romo. Lol Anyone who watched his career was always holding their breath hoping he didn’t screw it up. He had plenty of screw ups. He was a good QB, but let’s keep it real. And please don’t tell me that Romo never had some good talent around him.

I remember when he first came in 2nd half for Bledsoe & threw a pick off a deflected pass against NYG. He still looked good in that game especially compared to the Statue of Drew Bledsoe. You could see his mobility & moxie.

Next game Bill announced Tony as starter we waxed Carolina & never looked back at the QB position.

Took a while for Romo to work the bugs out of his game, starting from the screw ups in that game, but he was never boring. Really a shame his body didn't hold up, *and* that he didn't get one last chance with that dominating 2016 offense.

Top picks get paid too much to sit very long. FAs are lucky to make the team. Parcells show a lot of patience with Tony. He definitely saw something in him.

He didn't have the talent around him, until his last few years. The defense was always an afterthought, so was the Oline. Jerry was more concerned with making splash signings than building a team. I truly believe if we would have let Romo play for 2 more seasons we would have went to a Super Bowl. All the piece were finally in place...

Romo was very under appreciated and always took some really bad teams to 8-8.

Having never seen this, I’m a bit disappointed that it was his idea to go to Cabo as many folks on here made it seem like Wade Phillips encouraged him to go.

Also, my issue with Romo was always his mindset if he didn’t win and it clearly shows in this episode. We get your blessed to have had the opportunities that you did but being content with not winning a SB is just something that doesn’t come with being one of the greats and in leadership in general.

His mindset makes sense considering he came from small Eastern Illinois but he was always too much of a “Well, look at the bright side” type of individual. That’s great if you’re the QB of the Cleveland Browns or Jacksonville Jaguars but Cowboys fans don’t want to hear that.

During his first full season in 07 he had arguably the best team ever played for. The play Romo was most famous for was a screwup in the playoffs. I truly believe we weren’t going to get any farther with him than we had. Our defense got us beat in 2016 in the playoffs so Romo wouldn’t have made any difference there. I had a lot of hope when Dak took over, but he’s regressed and I think we may be stuck in the mud with him as well. We’ll find out this upcoming season if you can bounce back or he continues to regress.

It’s relative to the franchise you play for and the perspective of said fanbase. If Romo had played for The Jets, he’d be a folk legend. Think about Jeff Garcia; many pro bowls, eye popping early 2000’s stats… but no one really remembers that because he played for a team that just came off back to back top 10 alltime QBs

Add to that - Garcia began his 49ers / NFL career at the age of 29 (started his pro football career as a UDFA in the CFL for 5 seasons).

Any quarterback that is not a Hall of Fame caliber QB is going to have issues winning with this franchise.

I don't view Prescott as any worse at that special challenge than Romo was.

Both have choked in big time games.

Both have identical 2-4 playoff records with Prescott playing three fewer seasons.
