Creates mis matches at 6ft. 6 catches the ball and makes plays. He has been outstanding in camp from day 1. Looks like they keep 4 tight ends.

I don’t see how he makes the top 3.

He’s in competition with McKeon for the 4 spot, which isn’t even a guarantee to be active week in and week out.

If he makes the 53, he won’t see many snaps on a weekly basis.

I think 3 guys see snaps for sure. Ferguson, Schoonmaker, and Stephens.

I don’t think he leapfrogs Hendershot, but it’s not impossible.

I mean, I really like the guy too. I think his potential is much higher than McKeon’s and frankly, I’d rather keep Stephens if they decide to roll with 4 TE’s… however, I’m not convinced that the team sees it the same way that I do.

They’re going to be using the TE’s a lot for blocking, and that is what McKeon does best, so I’m not sold they’d keep a receiving TE prospect over him. I hope they do though.

So it all depends on what the coaches want. My guess is they both stay on, one on PS and one on the 53.

Please keep in mind that the WCO asks the TE’s to block a lot more than Coryell. So while I personally would keep the receiver over the blocker, I can’t discount the importance of blocking for TE’s in this scheme and hence the staffs apprehension to let a dependable blocker go.

Again, I think both stay with the organization.

Okay, it's one game.

But,

It's getting to the point that the scouting department is so good at what they do.....perhaps the Cowboys should always draft BPA..;...because if they have a genuine need all they have to do is wait for rookie free agents after the draft.

I feel that, just can’t make that decision for the coaches as they could very well prefer having more reliable blocking TE’s than receiving ones.

Also, Stephens isn’t a day 1 playmaker. He needs development as we just switched him from WR to TE.

Very tall wide receiver with good size...he will add finess to his routes. He can catch solidly and is interesting now, for sure.

At 6'6" and 240+ he better be able to at least get in the way with his general speed as well.
