Fans need to be patient with Viliami Fehoko. Right now he's buried on the depth chart behind a lot of guys. But both Dorance Armstrong and Dante Fowler are in the last year of their contracts. Next year, the Cowboys will have Parsons, Lawrence, Williams and Fehoko under contract. The Cowboys are going the stash the Mountain West Defensive Player of the Year on the team, and allow him to develop in practice this season. Don't be discouraged if you hardly see Fehoko this season. He was drafted for the future, not 2023.

Remember when former Outland Trophy winner as the 1988 Best Collegiate Defensive Lineman in the nation arrived with the Cowboys as a rookie in 1992, after spending 4 years in the Air Force flying jet fighter planes? The Cowboys stashed him behind Russell Maryland, Tony Casillas, Jimmie Jones, and Leon Lett. He hardly played at all in the 1992 Super Bowl run. But he was a key part of the 1994 season and the Cowboys 1995 Super Bowl run after Tony Casillas and Jimmie Johnson both moved on before the 1994 season. That is where Fehoko is now.

I believe he's been hurt most recently.

Color me doubtful. But he is better than Golston no matter the outcome

At the 4th round, Fehoko is too high to leave unprotected. He probably has to be carried on the roster, but won't be active unless an uproster DE misses a game.

Quite willing to be patient with Fehoko if he's shown some stuff.

I know nothing more about the guy than when he was drafted, so I have little basis for evaluation. College accolades in a minor conference mean little. Beating Ball means nothing. Can anyone point to something concretely positive or negative?

Your reference to Chad Hennings as part of your argument might ring a bit hollow with most anyone who remembers the 90's. And I don't see any logical connection between Henning and Fehoko.

OK...I looked up Chad Hennings stats to refresh my memory. Not a bad career.

But again there is no logical connection between Chad and Fehoko. None.

Someone else will have to lose their roster spot for this to happen.

I should've tempered my expectations it's just that we draft really well in the 4th round so I just assumed he would contribute immediately.

Some of the local media believe they are open to moving Armstrong.
