Dana is playing well. Paye has been solid. Aidan Hutchinson........
None of whom were drafted by the Cowboys.

Again, my post was kind of a joke given if Smith fails, that will be two wasted first round picks in the last 7 years on Michigan DL, who were toolsy projects.

Maybe if fans didn't use hyperbole nonstop they wouldn't talk down. If anyone calls mazi a bust right now they deserve to get talked down to
I hate ex-players who talk down to fans. Shut up!! It is cool to just explain about Mazi without bashing fans.

....Mazi, went from shoving guys around in college to GETTING shoved around in NFL.

He'll adjust. His ego has been culture shocked by men with beards and bigger arms.

Yep!! Voch and Sky are a breath of Fresh Air. Cowboys Alternative media is doing the journalism these days. Others guys are emboldened to sensation due to sponsor pressure.

YouTubers and X Content creators are setting the standard for new age journalism
It would help if Bloggingtheboys was somewhat objective

If they didn't know Mazi was raw coming in, need major technique work, then yes, they are morons. It's been blatantly obvious. Mazi stands up at the snap, that is actually what you're seeing. Fix that, and the getting blown off the line and being slow off the snap goes away. A little hand work makes the lack of block shedding go away.

If you're disappointed at this point, then you maybe should've even be watching preseason. Will he come around? Don't know at this point. I would take a guess and say that they're having trouble getting him to play correctly, and so played him a ton to basically show him that how he's doing it is not going to work. And if he's still unwilling to correct, then he is a bust.
They also have to understand that if he wasnt raw, he goes 15 picks higher. Payne had almost no college production and he was a top 15 pick

Smith was knocking on the door of the 2nd round

He also played in the painfully weak and slow-moving Big Ten conference. Michigan has lost 8 of their last 9 bowl games.

The NFL is full of players from the legit conferences.

He'll adjust in time.

I just saw an article that I can't find the link to but the gist was that DTs drafted in round one almost NEVER have an impact their first year. Outside of Aaron Donald over the last decade not one DT had more than 2.5 sacks. Mazi might never have that many sacks but that isn't his job and you can be an excellent player at that position with almost nothing on their stat line. His job is to engulf 2 OLine so the LBers can collect the stats. Give the guy some time.

Those of us critical of him are not concerned with sacks. His job is to help the run defense and he isn't doing that. He is neither making tackles nor is he freeing up the LBs to do it. Any first round pick should show signs of being able to do that.

I hear you. You have the right to be concerned but predicting BUST is waaaaaay too early

If Smith kind of fizzles out, the Cowboys should institute a new draft rule in their drafting procedures:

Don't draft Michigan DL in the first round.
I would be ok never drafting anyone from Michigan if they arent a DB or a 7th round QB

It's a bit early....but its trending that way.

Looks like a bad pick.

Mazi was listed as a 2nd day talent.

We should have gone OL in the 1st.

Agreed, MSM is pretty much Dead. With the amount of misinformation that they push it’s a wonder that they have any audience at all.
They need to change their business model or production model.

I love Michael Irvin but what value does Michael and Skip bring based on current format???

MSM as a whole are fantastic but their day time TV programming sucks!! *** *** ***  :lmao:
