Marino retired after the Dolphins had one of the worst playoff performances of all time against the Jags....with Jimmy Johnson as head coach.

Brutal game to watch. Not surprising both of them retired at the same time. Some losses you can't come back from.

I think I'm a rational fan, thanks very much. The Bills have a much much better offense than the Giants do. Yes, the Jets allowed more yards, and actual points, but they also took the ball away more times, and of course the Bills were giving their best effort the entire game, which I would argue the Giants probably weren't in the second half.

But mostly: it's one game. Never overreact to one game. We'll see how the defenses look as the season goes on. No rational fan would think otherwise.

Not a Rodgers fan, but I hate it for him. Not a Jets fan either, but I wanted to see what they could do with Rodgers. The NFL is a tough league.

Otoh, I AM a Cowboys fan and I like our matchup better now, though I think we could’ve handled the Jets with Rodgers.

The Jets also got, what, 5 takeaways? Plus a return TD.

After the first week, no one knows anything. Too much prisoner of the moment talk from media, analyst, sports shows and fans. From the Chiefs losing, to the Dallas blowout, time will tell if the first week was an anomaly or indicative of what's to come.

I've hated the guy forever, but watching how he conducted himself during Hard Knocks it was difficult to keep that energy. His team mates genuinely like and respect him. When he sees old team mates and coaches during the preseason games they are genuinely happy to see each other and it's clear he's formed a lot of lasting friendships. Hes encourgaing to his team and Wilson. I'm certainly not going to be angry at him for not complying with a mandate which has proven to be worthless.

My advice to my buddies is don't watch Hard Knocks because it will sicken you how much you'll end up liking Rodgers as a person. Gross.

It’s Week 1 but Bills in that same club as our team where Conf Championship is minimum goal this year to meet expectations. They are what they are.

It's week 1, we really don't know how good or bad teams are. We're just going by last year. Even though I think the Bills and Allen are overrated, by all accounts, the Jets held a much better offense in check than the Cowboys did.

That said, did anyone else think the Bills should have kicked off to the Jets in OT? Were they really afraid of a Zach Wilson led Jets team driving 75 yards for the win in overtime? Their coach isn't very bright in stressful situations. It cost them the game in the divisional round against KC a few years back. Now it cost them the game against the Jets in week 1.

No but next week should be a relatively low scoring game with the Boys pulling it out late in the game.

Its the Jets MO - D keeps them the game, their O cant score - eventually the other teams offense does enough to win the game.

Either way it should be a good test for our new O.

I hope we score at least 20-21 because they should be enough to win but realistically you’re probably right low scoring game.

Years ago Bledsoe led the Bills to a 31-0 smashing of NE the first week. NE won the SB that year. Bills I think did not even make the playoffs. first week really is still preseason.
