Bob Sturm: Cook, Lamb and Gallup have only 6 targets and zero receptions in red zone plays

3 of those 6 targets came in one game - against Arizona when they have their biggest red zone problems of the year. In other words, this stat means nothing. None of those guys were open Sunday.

I think down near the goal line you have to be able to run the football, use deception, and have plays to designed to get guys open. Fade and that stuff, are hard to execute down there.

They were open several times though.

I've known for a couple years now that we would end up with Cooks....and it didn't excite me at all when we finally did sign him...too small and on the decline. I am sooooo tired about hearing about so and so's speed in camp....pffftttt!!! Give me Lamb, Tolbert, and Brooks.

As noted in the tweet comments, while we had issues in previous years, we were much better in the red zone under Moore with Dak as the QB.

People need to wake up to the reality that the biggest issue offensively with this team is probably the guy calling the plays thus far this year.

No excuse for this........

This can be a very simplified stat. For example, against the Jets (I believe), Dak overthrew Ferguson in one corner of the end zone and had Lamb wide open in the other end. Choosing Ferguson was not a bad play-call, just poor execution. It doesn't matter who is targeted as much as it matters if the play-call worked and was executed properly.

That is the biggest change unless Schultz opened things up for other guys. We do have at least a couple of TD drops by TE’s.

But if it is play calling then why not just go back to what we were doing in the red zone the last 2 years and WCO up to the 20

Well. Every pass to them seems to be a jump ball in the corner
why? I have been arguing since AZ game that our redzone play designs are not good. no imagination. easy to defend. easy to read. specially inside the 10. even in AZ game, the last play with the interception it was a horribly designed play. horribly executed. faults all around.
