Can't understand why McCarthy isn't making Cee Dee the first option down in the redzone. Or how about not getting to the redzone? How about scoring before you get into the redzone?????

That is the biggest change unless Schultz opened things up for other guys. We do have at least a couple of TD drops by TE’s.

But if it is play calling then why not just go back to what we were doing in the red zone the last 2 years and WCO up to the 20
And admit the guy they shoved out the door wasn't all that bad?
That's not the JJ way

Give me the all-22 and I will.

I know one (I think the turnover on downs series) Lamb and Gallup (I think) were both open in opposite corners of the EZ.
So you don't know for sure any receivers were open? You don't need the All-22. If you watched the game, Moose Johnston repeatedly pointed out how the receivers were not getting open. But if you insist on the All-22, the NFL on nfl.com is offering the All-22 for review on the NFL+ Premium package on a monthly basis for $14.99.

The fade where Lamb gave up would’ve been an easy TD if it were a slant. That’s an easy adjustment that should be able to be made on the fly. It was too open not to exploit.

We have 2 problems.

A. We have a head coach that wants to be an OC and his playbook freaking sucks. Fat Mike had Rogers as his QB and his plays sucked so bad he got stripped of play calling in Green Bay.

B. We dont have a QB that is very accurate when it comes to tight window throws, which are required in the red zone. Typically in the NFL you dont have WRs running wide open in the endzone, you just dont.

Until these two problems are fixed, expect lots more FGs than TDs in the red zone this year.

Gallup was open on that underthrown ball where they picked up the pass interference flag.

Lamb was also open in the Giants game on the 2nd & 4 play at the 9:27 mark of the 2nd quarter and Dak air mailed it over his head.
Did the NFL or any diehard ref fans have any explanation for why the flag was picked up?

I heard an explanation on Twitter, or what used to be called Twitter, that the refs talked it over and decided that it was "face guarding".....................that is legal in the NFL, not conidered PI, so they picked up the flag.

Not saying I agree with the call, but that was the explanation given...........face guarding, not PI.

Not true. Dak is very accurate as a passer.

Currently, Dak has the 2nd highest 'on target %' of all teams in the 2023 season at 84.8%. His 'bad %' throws are the 3rd least.

https://www.pro-football-reference.com/years/2023/advanced.htm

All of this while having the 2nd fewest 'pocket time' average in seconds in the pocket.

https://www.pro-football-reference.com/years/2023/advanced.htm

As to 'tight window throws', last year in 2022, Dak finished
tied for the NFL lead with 15 interceptions and had, by far, the highest interception percentage of his career (3.8).

There are reasons that explain why Prescott's turnover rate was so high last year. He had the highest rate of tight-window throws in six years during the 2022 campaign (19.8 percent). The Cowboys didn't have one wide receiver with enough snaps to qualify for the leaderboard who ranked in the top 50 in average yards of separation.

CeeDee Lamb was their top-ranked wideout in that category at No. 56 with an average of 3.1 yards of separation. Michael Gallup and Noah Brown ranked 111 and 115, respectively. (T.Y. Hilton didn't have enough snaps to qualify.) The Cowboys receiving group finished among the top 3 worst in yards of separation average in 2022.

This is a fast read and react offense and Dak is not processing his early reads quick enough, or we would be seeing your stats for those completions on short yardage metric.
The quick reads are killing him, and letting defenses settle in and defend soft zones.
This.
Reminds me of Fangio's exposing Dak as Denver DC from a couple years back.
And then Dak and Mike talking smack saying "we hope other teams play us like that" LOL

Well guess what, other teams do and will continue to play soft zone daring Dak to beat them.
And he wont.

And the funny part is it doesn't matter who is calling the play.
But many here seem to have thought it was an efficiency and situational playcalling problem that would be fixed by this SB winning playcaller HC.

It hasn't been fixed by him.
And he can't fix what he's been given at QB.

Moore over achieved with what he had.

It will either become more clear to most as the season plays out OR we'll most likely go the scapegoat route again.

The current playcaller will be fired and blamed.

Sad but true.

It really is this simple.

You have known for a long time, with the rest of us, and good to see at least recognition finally from those that believed in Dak, I wanted him to succeed as well, but that is honestly like betting on a piece of coal to magically turn into a diamond, was never going to happen and blatantly obvious years ago, not just now.
The Dur DUR DUR emoji queen jokers are too embarrassed to ever admit how wrong they were with their feels for Dak, it just proves how football educated they are not.

Yep bro,
I think "they" started out with o-line excuses. Now it's wide receiver separation problems.
It's only a matter of time before it's McCarthy's fault.

The funny thing is I'm not the biggest McCarthy supporter either but I'll admit he was dealt a poor hand with what he has to work with at QB.

Oh well,
The more that things change the more they stay the same, lol.
