How big is this game and what do you think will be different?

It’s big in the sense it’s the second biggest game of the year thus far. Bills and Dolphins last week was the first.

49ers are better this year than last.

Pollard got hurt last time.

I’d argue our team is also better and a mix better secondary despite Diggs hurt.

It’s a nice gauge for where these two teams are at right now.

I’d say a 7.

A win should have just as much value as a loss but it doesn't, it's more. The Cowboys are expected to lose so if that happens it's the status quo. If the Cowboys beat the 49ers, that's a statement game to the whole league that the Cowboys are legit contenders in 2023. It would be a huge boost for the team's ego and secure the idea that the team's culture change is real.

As for what I think will be different, it's coaching and execution.

you are dead on with how this game is. I'd say its about a 7 out of 10.... a win here will be great for the rest of the season, a lost and the team's ego is gonna be bad the rest of the way.... Only hope I have is Dak to use his legs to keep drives going instead of stalling out.

It's a must-win, if for no other reason than that damned dropped game in Arizona. At 3-2, you may well be sucking hind-teat to the Eagles in the division the rest of the year, well before the halfway point of the season.

Then, there's the rent-free accommodations enjoyed by the Niners in the heads of the Cowboys...particularly, Dak...for two years. Every talking-head in America is going on about how Dak can't beat SF. Nothing better for his psyche (and that of the entire team) than to go kick their a** and put the lie to that.

The defense knows what they need to do. Just worried that the offense will go super-conservative, not moving the ball like they're fully-capable of doing.

I legitimately believed Dallas would beat them the past two times. This time, I do not. So they likely will lol

The overall import of this game at least to me is any other game at this point. It might help or hurt if they meet in the playoffs but really it may have say in home field advantage. Both teams could be in different situtions come the playoffs so a win or loss could mean very little.

How big a game it is will be determined by the number of "Fear of the Refs" threads before the game even starts.

Over/Under 2.5

I would not be surprised if this is the game Dak and McC finally air it out and Cooks has a great day.... I feel the niners are vulnerable in the secondary and that is where we need to attack...

One thing that both excites me and worries me about this game and a potential rematch down the line is that it seems like for the Cowboys this is Super Bowlish....for SF this seems to be just another game on the schedule.

I’d say it’s a 9. Yea it’s only a regular season game but the Cowboys need to gain some confidence versus these guys. And we all know this game could be the tie breaker for home field advantage and a bye.

If the Cowboys lose they're basically three games back in potential playoff seeding and it'll be 3 losses in 20 months. They need this win for more than one reason.
they need to get the monkey off their back...honestly this one feels like the Seattle game back in 2014 that got that team on track to just about getting over the hump...
