Grades for every first-round pick

Mazi Smith at a C- is not good so far. Still lots of the season to go. Hope he keeps improving. Sucks having to draft so late in the 1st round. Most of the best talent gets taken in the top 22 picks of the 1st round.
The Cowboys didn't have 26 players with first round grades. So we have to keep in mind they were drafting 2nd round talent in the first round. Yes he was a first rounder, but.........

Lots of crying about grades without reading the explanation. Quibble with the grades all you want, but there's nothing wrong with the explanation:
Mazi Smith has been a part-time player for the Dallas Cowboys and hasn’t stood out a lot on tape. He’s made the occasional run stuff here or there, but he’s only playing around 15 snaps a game.

It usually takes defensive linemen a year or so before they make an impact, but the Cowboys were undoubtedly hoping for more right away.

The question about Carter (Eagles) was staying out of trouble long term.

Everybody knew he would be good on the field.

Kelvin Joseph 1st NFL start (rookie year) he gave up minus 2 yards passing when targeted...That's an A+++.

Skronski and Gibbs biggest shockers. Skronski was supposed to be the most sure thing in the draft (assuming they put him at guard). Gibbs ranking seems a bit low....but again I thought he was the low hanging fruit of the draft.

Three Wilson...man....Chris Simms was saying he'd be the best player of the draft.. and every team was drooling over him.

Sounds about right for Mazi. Was hoping for better and hoping that happens. At least he hasnt been a healthy scratch ala Taco and Hill.

Gibbs only has averaged less than 10 carries a game and 3.5 catches. They've been feeding the ball to Montgomery so far... Gibbs is averaging 4.6/YPC though.

Ok, why bring up Kelvin Joseph? Joseph sucked the rest of the games he played in. He even cost us games due to getting burned for big plays and giving up 3rd & long TDs. It's why the Cowboys finally had enough and got rid of Kelvin Joseph via trade. So, once again, why bring up Kelvin Joseph?

They have an opinion just like everyone else. It’s not like anyone really knows, they all have an opinion. So far their draft grade has been pretty accurate on Mazi. His level of play so far has been about a C-. Their draft grade on Jalen Carter has been accurate. Everyone believes he’s having an All-Pro season. He’s looked every bit an A+.
The only thing that brings me solace about Carter is essentially he just just a switch out for Hargrave, who is playing better. Of course, the fact that Hargrave is playing better for the team we face Sunday brings me back down.

I think that was pretty liberal. I got him graded as an "F-"

Never heard of them and don’t accept anything they say just because it’s on the internet.

I’ve never heard of them either and I don’t except anything from anyone regardless who they are. Like I said everyone has an opinion. No one‘s going to agree on any grades. You won’t find any source that has the exact same grade on these players. Based on what I’ve seen from Mazi the first four games the grade he was given I agree with.

Meh, fair enough. 4 games into a DL career is too quick to be able to say much more. The explanation was probably close to the truth. C or C- is probably accurate. I'd give him a C-, but not based on his future. Things seem to be trending up. These are rarely sexy picks the beginning of their rookie years.

Hope you are right.

Not really. Carter is already demanding as much attention in pass protection as Hargrave, and Carter is way better vs the run…which has never been Hargrave’s strength
