The Shoemaker kid from Sam Houston State. Wow. Watching him against UTEP on the Deuce.

Quinn Ewers
Why? I suppose you don't need a high pick to obtain him. I'm just not impressed and I definitely don't think he is a plug and play type QB. He will need a few seasons to sit and learn.

He is NFL ready right now and will be a for sure 1st round draft pick.
He is most definitely plug and play. He is a prototype NFL QB.

We clearly disagree on our assessments of him. I obviously have taken the easy path of betting against him as most QBs fail once they make the pros. I don't think he has what it takes to be a quality NFL starter and now his shoulder seems to be made of jello. I'm not rooting against him or any college QB, but I have my doubts.

As a Sam Houston State alumni, I wouldn't be opposed. That said, he'd need to be a UDFA and put through a season on PS.

He is a Longhorn. Thats why he is pro ready sure fire picks, just like all the other Longhorn special treasures

Quinn Ewers
I actually think Quinn is a decent prospect. He plays well in primetime games which is about the opposite of every QB we've had for 15 plus years.
Only gripe about Ewers is the timing route passes, he needs to approve on those to be good in the NFL level.

Romo and Prescott have played well in plenty of primetime games.

Ewers has 12 career wins up to this point. How many of those do you consider primetime games?

Ewers needs to work on his feet. I think he has poor feet in the pocket.

Ewers is probably a top-10 pick in most drafts, but a bit later in this QB class. He makes a lot of NFL throws look real easy, even when his feet aren't great.

He needs to get smarter and just be better at playing quarterback, but has a high enough ceiling to go round 1.
